Restaurant Zigante will be closed from December 1, 2024, to March 1, 2025, as we embark on a comprehensive renovation of our premises. Our newly designed space will seamlessly blend a retail shop with a gourmet dining area, offering guests the opportunity not only to purchase our premium truffle products but also to indulge in exquisite truffle-based dishes. The dining area will feature a thoughtfully curated menu crafted with the finest ingredients to perfectly complement the truffle experience. we have already dined in this restaurant twice. Top service, very friendly staff, super tasty dishes with lots of truffles. Delicious wines from the Zigante domain. Definitely try the sparkling wine as an aperitif. Definitely worthy of a Michelin guide.

Good, but $300+ for Two for Lunch

This was one of the better meals we had in Croatia. However, for $300+ we could have a superb lunch in many global cities and towns. Our meals were competently conceived and prepared with well-balanced flavors, but we've made better steak and duck at home. We enjoyed our waiter a great deal and appreciated learning about the local provenance of many of the dishes.

Wanted to try white truffles and were recommended to come to this restaurant. The restaurant is very smart and wait staff all dressed impeccably and gave great service. Our meal was not rushed at all, we were given time between courses to chat. I had the white truffle risotto for starter, then steak with black truffle for main. The risotto was a healthy sized portion and very tasty and steak cooked perfectly. We shared a zigante wine and with desert the bill came to about £70 a head. My husband had the chocolate souffle which he enjoyed but said he’d had much richer ones. All courses were very well presented. There is the option to do 2 different tasting menus with wine pairings but as our tastes are somewhat limited, we ate off the a la carte menu

AMAZING meal & superior service by Alen The retail store attached to the restaurant is also amazing - we bought a take-home package that included pasta, truffles, oil etc to give to a friend as a hostess gift. If you're in Motovun, it's worth the stop in Livade to eat in or take home the food. If you blink, you'll miss this place - it's in a tiny village

Fantastic food in beautiful resto

We ended up here accidentally and we’re not disappointed. We had a fantastic lunch inside in the classic yet very lovely restaurant with wooden beams. We Felt very welcome even though we had only a once course meal and brought two kids who both dislike truffel (….). The food was amazing! I had the truffel pasta my husband the duck. The kids had a simple yet lovely pasta with cheese. The shop next door was great too and we bought all holiday presents there as well as Zigante wine for the remainder of our holiday. Strongly recommend the resto and the shop

This was a very good choice to have diner here.you can choice a la carte or they have two menu’s. A very luxury environment but still relaxed . The waiters where very kind and helpful. We choose for a la carte. A starter and a main course. Between this they serve a small appetizer. Very good. All dishes are with truffels taste and they will slice truffels over the dish at your table. Again explaining all dishes while serving. Not cheap but just do it. It is nice the give yourself the taste and environment off luxury. The truffel icecream was delicious.

A top dining experience!

My husband and I splurged with a six-course meal and wine pairing as part of our honeymoon in Croatia. The food and dining experience was incredible — from the flavors, to the presentation to the staff, it is a top dinning experience for us. We also chose to stay in the hotel attached, which allowed us to really enjoy ourselves, have a delicious breakfast and do a truffle hunting demonstration. The value of the experience all around was well worth it. We will definitely recommend to friends and family, and visit again if we find our way back to the area!

Fantastic experience

Excellent composition: wine, menu, service. We had the silver menu with a suggested choice of wines to accompany the various dishes (4 plus intermezzi) for dinner. The truffle being the subtle ingredient in each course. Well balanced and offering new horizons for it’s use. Especially for the dessert: Filled Gnocci! Delicious! Next time we stick to the Fagotini and the Gnocchi for lunch. We’ll have to be early for the Fagotini get sold out quickly.

As a big truffle fan, I can say that in the Zigante restaurant all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. I have tried various specialties with truffles in many locations through Istria but I will only return to Zigante to eat truffles again...the best service and carefully selected ingredients

Great truffle experience

Elegant place and also suitable for a truffle tasting at lunch. Attentive service and a stratospheric wine list at extremely fair prices. The dishes, in their simplicity, are cared for and well made. Quality truffle treated with skill and imagination, and in quantities we are not used to. Excellent value for money. We ate and drank really well....

We went here for a lunch with our kids, as restaurant was recommended by our friends. Right from the start we were very pleased with excellent service, what was followed by even better food. All food was prepared at highest standard, selection of wines were great and service was outstanding right up till the end. Very very pleasant stay.

A wonderful dining experience

We went to the Zigante Restaurant to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. Both the food and the staff were exceptional. Everything was done to increase our dining pleasure. Everything we ordered as well as all the additional treats the restaurant served were prepared with taste, style and care.

If you love truffles, this is the epitome of of all that it stands for. Firstly great food, made extra special with the addition of freshly shaved truffles. The collection of whole truffles is very impressive on it's own. Service is knowledgeable, very friendly, but pace is dictated by the kitchen. So expect your dinner to be at least 2 hours and you'll probably eat more delicious bread and fresh olive oil than anticipated. Nice dining space and it's part of the B & B hotel, so great location for guests

Amazing place

Beautiful experience, lovely staff. This was the best service we could imagine. We had lamb and fish for main dish, an pasta for appetizer. Chocolate souffle with truffles ice cream-best ever. Great wines and olive oil as well. It was a bit expensive but worthed!! We are coming back for sure, first time we’ll be in Istria.
