It was not a difficult decision to return for Elia for a 2nd lunch after our first experience there. Located in the centre of Sellia, with a beautiful view on the Plakias bay and Myrthios, we enjoyed the fabulous cooking of Maria (?) and the very hospitable service of her husband. What a joy to be their guest and taste... More

Unfortunately was the last day of our holiday before we discovered Elia. The location is in the main square of Selia near Plakias, Crete. Elia is spotless, the food, cooked to ordet, is excellent, the best we had all holiday and the yogurt panacotta was stunning. The view from the restaurant is from about thousand feet up looking over Plakias... More

Nick and Nina are wonderful hosts in this my favourite restaurant on Crete. Visited in summer and again in autumn and the food and service is just as good as it was then. Must try: The marinated tuna salad, the advocado salad, the musaka (beste ever!), the humus with eel, the ice-cream and panacota! Ate there just about every day... More

Had lunch here on 24th Oct. Warm welcome, lovely clean restaurant, wonderful views. Food was really great, the yoghurt panacotta was fantastic. Well worth a visit or two or more.

We had a really execellent lunch of hummus followed by roast lamb at Elia. The daily menu board had a great selection of Cretan dishes, which made it hard to choose! It's a charming little place with simple, yet stylish decor, and equally charming owners. There is a fabulous view across the valley to Mirthios and over to Plakias bay.

A gastro experience that we'll never forget. The food is poetry, the people are heart warming and the view is everything you want to stay imprinted in your mind from Crete. One experience here was enough to get all 5 of us addicted. We had to keep coming back for more every evening. The fresh tuna and cherry tomatoes tossed... More

My partner and I visit every year the Plakias region and we eat most of the times to the best restaurant of the area, Elia. This year the food and the service was amazing as always, if not better! The lamb fricasse with wild greens (stamnagathi) is a must and the yoghurt pana cotta delicious.

Nikos's warm, alert but modest hosting is both welcoming and relaxing and blends perfectly with Nina's dishes that are both surprising as refined. The daily freshly prepared menu includes a wide choice of both traditional as original dishes. Enough choice for vegetareans as well. Portions are good and prices are fair and althought the house wine is good, I recommend... More

We didn't find this restaurant last year!!! So pleased to have been this year and we so enjoyed the menu! There were some traditional choices but also some unusual ones! Just a bit different. Lovely setting, good views very professional staff. I notice some comments about slow service, there are only a few staff but they are very attentive and... More
