Beautiful village, traditional Bavarian food, and atmospheric venue. Beers from the monastery were fantastic. Huge starter of ham from the monastery was great as was the goulash soup. Sadly service was rude & inefficient. Dishes all arrived at different times and one person got forgotten about altogether . However the setting transcended that and we still had a good time.... Awesome beer, horrible food! Great atmosphere! Waitress had no clue what we wanted or who ordered what even though they gave us all an English menu. Just typical run of the meal over cooked German meat on a plate full of gravy and fried potatoes. Our beer on the the other hand was fantastic! So eat somewhere else, and come... More

we stopped over on our trip to Nuremberg and were a bit dissapointed by the prices charged for food and beer. Although the beer tasted fantastic the food, a Haxe, we had a much better one at the Königssee a day before.

3 plates of Krustenbraten and 1 plate of Wienerschnitzel. Catastrofic food with very high prices. Salad with the Braten was good but was from the ready made buckets which you buy at the wholesale store. Braten itself was miserable. The crust was unchewable and all three plates had burnt and dry end pieces. The Wienerschnitzel for €19,- was little thicker... More

We were walking from Starnberg to DIessen and called in to the beer garden at the back for lunch. It was very busy with families and tourists to the monastery but we easily found a table and were quickly served. Great beer and the light lunch menu was just what we wanted. Would definitely recommend.

it's a pity; you sit hilltop in a garden with spectacular view to the alps and get a perfect beer, but if it comes to meals you'll be disappointed. Sure, this is a tourist and event spot but why should they be insulted by bad quality? Example the classical Bavarian dish "Krustenbraten" or "Schweinsbraten", where is the "crust"? You will... OMG....a highlight of our 2 week trip to Germany. We knew we were on to something when we pulled into a Monastery and saw 5 Tour busses parked in their lot. The Biergarten at the Andechs Monastery is fantastic. 4-5 drafts available in large or enormous sizes, enormous pretzels, sausages, cheese, saurkraut.....all the classic necessities for a Bavarian meal. a... Slow service not the friendliest but a great vegetarian dish SPARGELBRATLING = YUMM. It was a cold rainy day and the chicken soup was good and not salty.
