We started here and had some of the best food. There was a pig knuckle (Schweinshaxe) that was amazingly good. It is a huge portion and 1 is enough to share. They also have beer here. You can try whatever they are serving. The one thing I was not expecting is the size and amount of tourists here. They can... More

I LOVE Andechs! Honestly the best beer (doppelbock Dunkel) I have ever tasted. The weather was perfect to sit in the garden, enjoy the beer with a pretzel and over look the Bavarian hills. I recommend the cream cheese with the radish, it's really tasty. I must go back here some time soon; it's perfect!

Some of the finest beers i have ever come across (not forgetting the organic pork) in a great setting, a look inside the chapel is a must. Close to the town of Herrshing which has hotels on the lake all serving great food and beer

Andechs is a great summer's day destination. The Kloisterbrew is broadly known in Bavaria and among beer aficionados far and beyond. Dining on the terrace in the summer is a delight made superlative by the excellent feasting fare. For those of you who are so inclined, the Schweinshaxe (roast pig's shank) is a marvel in itself and a commitment to... More

The bier here is fantastic. Absolutely brilliant bavarian bier. I LOVE THE BIER HERE. I have visited a number of times, the dunked (dark) bier is especially satisfying in Winter months. The food is done perfectly, if you like Bavarian food, this place is highly recommended.

My excellent score is due more to the atmosphere and the beauty of the place, than to the food itself. In the country outside Munich, on a hill, you can see this wonderful place, where you can enjoy a typical Bavarian meal and drink an excellent liter of andechs. If you happen in Munich I advise you to visit this... More

Nothing better than having excellent German beer overlooking rural farmland. Excellent mostly pork food as well. The outdoor seating is covered, so no issues with rain unlike Augustiner Keller, which seems to be closed any day there is a chance of rain. Also the walk from Herrsching is a legit hour as we walk quickly and it took us 55... More

Being in Munich and not going to Andechs to eat a a weisswurst, bretzl and drink a beer is the some that going to Rome and not see the Pope. This place is famous beacause of the church that is the oldest in Germany and of course because of the beer. It is great being in the big beargarten. They... More

A premier location to get out of the city for a day. Drive down to the Ammersee and walk around before heading up to the holy hill and sitting in the beergarden with a view. Have the Haxn and drink the Doppelbock, but remember to bring a designated driver!
