I always receive good food and service from a helpful friendly team. Greene King menu with reasonable prices for both food and drink.

Went on a Saturday night after a day out. The food was inexpensive and was filling. The staff were attentive even though it took 5 mins for tomato me sauce to arrive after we requested it and it came in a paper bowl. The pub was quiet so the service was quick

Went as a big group for lunch work meal. All the meals came out at different times which ranged from 30 minutes to 1hr 15 minutes wait. Poor service, staff are not bothered and the food is poor quality. I would not recommend a visit here.

Went for a meal with a party of people. Staff appeared to be polite on arrival. We were seated and served quickly and waitress was pleasant and helpful. When my dessert arrived I found a piece of plastic in my dessert! I spoke to the young man behind the bar and gave him the piece of plastic and asked him... More

Went to Black Horse today. Girl behind bar was helpful and polite. Then it went down hill from there on in. Food arrived quite quickly. Too quickly as it was hot on the outside and cold in the middle. I had chicken and even though it was cooked through it was hard like old boots and cold in the middle.... More

I had steak & ale pie (which I typically love) and it was tasteless. Followed up with sticky toffee pudding which was more sugar than flavour.

A very nice meal, we had a pleasant evening nice surroundings great atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced and bar staff friendly but bested by the female (duty??) manager who knew just how to make us all, from the smallest to the oldest, feel welcome

Any thought of the newly refurbished place were put on hold when the waiter came out with child sized knife and fork for my granddaughters (Aged 6 and 2) What a fantastic idea which make eating out more pleasurable for them. Mondays offer is children's main meals are £1. They were nice smallish portions which were ideal for the ages... More

Used to go here quite regularly, pub chain food so you knew what you were getting but recently the standard has dropped. I had chicken wings as a starter and found stale mayonnaise stuck to the side of the bucket, steak was so gristly I could not chew it. I will not go back for a while

The Black Horse is a great local pub in Trowbridge - would like to be able to offer a review. I selected "English" as the type of cuisine only because "Pub" wasn't an option - it should be, given that Café and Diner are listed as options.
