A Michelin star quality meal with equivalent service. The local wines selection was up to the pairing. On top of that, it came with a modern flair and gorgeous ocean view.

Everything was phenomenal. It took a while for everything to come out, but we were a large party and as such had almost everything on the menu. Nothing was less than excellent. Not to miss are the melon gazpacho, the bruschetta, and the daily catch...in this amazing buttery pesto risotto.More

We ate twice at Casa Ancora during our stay on Pico. On both occasions the food and service were excellent. In particular, Francisco Mendonça was a professional and friendly host and server.

I had the best octopus here, the low temperature shrimp is also very fine. Even if there was a bad experience: the waitress brought a bottle of wine that was not opened in front of us, I have to give 5 stars because of the...atmosphere, quick service, quality of food, price range.More

Great place for dinner in the heart of São Roque do Pico by the harbor. We got there when they opened and the dining room quickly filled up—a great sign! Our waiter guided us in a great direction for dinner. We enjoyed the fish of...the day with risotto. I started with a very fresh and delicious watermelon gazpacho which I’ve been craving ever since. Good value, clean and modern dining room, and friendly and professional service.More

Very poor food quality and the prices are high. We ordered passionfruit pie and it came with canned fruit. The “pico bread” is normal Bread. The raviolis were flooded in olive oil.

Definitely in the top3 best kitchen in the whole group of islands of Azores. Went there 5 times, did the whole menu. Especially because we were in a big trip and wanted something different from the local dishes only. It’s super underrated. Decoration is sublime...and simple, very nice taste. The waitress/waiter are super young local kids and that’s a plus. Go there and support local investment which is doing something here that you almost can’t find in the islands.More

Very very disappointed. We reserved by phone 2 days upfront and when we arrived at the restaurant it was closed. Very amateuristic!

Don’t even bother to go here you have a food allergy. I ordered a grilled chicken that was on the menu and they said it has gluten. So I asked what other dish I could have without gluten, a simple grilled fish or meat, for...example. The answer was simply “there’s nothing you can eat here, everything has gluten”. No “sorry” even. No alternative but to leave. Worst experience ever.More

We did stop here on our way around the island and the recommendation we got was all true. The restaurant is sparsely furnished but pratical. The food was very good and the also with good size. Definitely a good place to grab a bite in...Sao Roque.More

Interesting and flavourful fusion food, we had the stone crab pate (14 euro as it was for two people), 2 mains, 2 desserts, one glass of wine and one bottle of water and paid 70 euros. The only disappointment was that the staff was unable...to recommend any of the local wine, which I noted had a 100% mark up. They do not take a reservation so be prepared to queue.More
