Booking advised, as we couldn’t get a ‘walk-in’ table on Saturday night, but we did manage to dine-in on Sunday early evening. Good food, cooked very well and served beautifully. The ‘pint of prawns’ had sold out so we ordered steak, and it was exceptional. Warmed goats cheese starter was delicious. Thank you team West End!

Great to hear - many thanks for that. Deliveries of prawns are sporadic so we never quite know if we’ll have them in - a great shame! But delighted you enjoyed the onglet instead - it’s a tasty cut to be sure. Hope we see you back some time.

We always recommend the West End because we enjoy going there ourselves. The other night was no exception - delicious starters, scampi, and steak frites perfectly cooked by Tim and friendly, attentive service from Oonagh. They have a good drinks list too. Thank you for another lovely evening.

We visited the West End bar last October and had an incredible meal, we booked and returned again for the last night of our holiday in July as a treat. I'd love to pick a favourite from the three courses (pate with raisin toast, steak frites with peppercorn sauce - this is the best steak you will ever eat and the sticky toffee pudding), but I can't, the quality of he food and cooking is incredible - this is a real find and very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and excellent and it's a lovely relaxed environment. Oh and its dog friendly. Can't recommended enough. Go!

We’re so pleased you enjoyed your return visit with us. You understand what we’re about: simple dishes, nice ingredients, careful cooking, a cosy environment and friendly service. We’re delighted you enjoyed it! (Oh, and I’m very pleased you like the walnut & raisin toast - it takes 22 hours to rise!) We very much hope to welcome you both and Brodie back again soon.

Lovely pub, really dog friendly had a separate dining room for people with dog , which is nice for dog owners and those without as I didn't feel my dog was disturbing other dinners. Most of the food is sourced locally, my husband was disappointed ghe prawns where not available as none had come in on the boats that day we shared a chautrie board instead that was delicious, as where the main courses . My sticky toffee pudding was twice the size as I normally get at other restaurants. A throughly enjoyable evening all the staff and owner made up feel very welcome both in the restaurant and bar.

Many thanks indeed for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed yourselves. Sorry about the prawns - as you say we’re at the mercy of the day’s catch, but it’s great to hear you enjoyed our other dishes. And as for the sticky toffee… there’s definitely no place for half portions where this pudding is concerned! We hope to welcome you both, and your four legged friend, back some time soon.

We had a superb meal here, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel truly welcome. All our food was excellent, local produced, and obviously cooked with care. Between the 3 of us we had meat, fish and vegan dishes, all of which were delicious. The lemon posset was divine!

We stayed in Pittenweem this last weekend as we couldn’t get booked anywhere at St Andrew’s but so glad we did as we would not have found this fabulous restaurant! It was easily the best meal we have had in a long time with great friendly service. I had steak frites and the steak was cooked to perfection and so tender, followed by a lovely homemade lemon posset - will definitely be back 😊

We walked past here umpteen times without ever thinking of going in. Won't make that mistake again. Liked the look of food and approach on the website, booked table for lunch a tad apprehensively. From moment we were greeted by our enthusiastic waitress till we left, we were both satisfied and impressed. The beer from the local Ovenstone brewery was superb, a perfect example of how to store and serve a classic real ale. Sauvignon blanc was well above average. Menu is small but from what we tasted that's a plus. The trout tart starter wouldn't have been out of place in a Michelin restaurant. Main courses and dessert were also very good. 2 rounds of drinks, a starter, main courses and a dessert - all of this for 50 odd pounds. Cracking value!

Marvellous to hear this. We try our best to please on all fronts! I’m suitably humbled by your mention of the M word…though we had the tart for supper last night and I have to agree, it is delicious! Very happy you enjoyed it, and our hospitality. Hope you visit us again.

Absolutely delicious food in super surroundings with really personal service. We’ve been planning on eating here for the last two weeks and we’re so glad we did. Short-ish menu of very well cooked food: delicious local produce and great cocktails and wines. Beautiful decor. Couldn’t ask for more.

Excellent wee pub . Visited with our two wee dogs . We had delicious fish and chips- lovely , light batter - and a large goat cheese salad which was a perfect evening meal for me. Beer on tap was good and prices for our two cocktails were reasonable . Service from the barman was faultless and he was very welcoming . Will definitely visit again when we’re fortunate enough to overnight in Pittenweem .

My wife, granddaughter and I went along for the Thursday of the platinum Jubilee, a special menu of steak diane and Queen's Pudding. An absolute delight, a chef who knows his stuff and a friendly hostess who was not only keen to ensure we were well served and enjoying our meal but ready with advice on local fishmongers. ( By the way, we got hake next day from Lowrie's). As Arnie once said, "I'll be back!".

Great stuff - very happy to hear you enjoyed our retro Jubilee menu and the service from our “hostess with the mostess” (aka my own lovely wife Oonagh). Hope you enjoyed your hake on Friday! We’ll be delighted to have you back some time soon.

Utterly marvellous - once again ! Our annual summer holiday visit, and all 5 of us were bowled over. Juicy, perfectly cooked Flatiron steak with peppercorn/brandy sauce and delicious crisp french fries. Served by Oonagh - friendly, attentive and helpful. Background music too (a mild grumble from last year - fully resolved!) Restaurant was full on entry at 725pm. Summer booking essential. Homely layout. Food was simply magnificent. Thanks Oonagh and Tim!

What a fabulous dinner, the only thing better was the amazing service. With two children who were tired the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was superb and really tasty, the freshly made pate to start was delicious, the steak perfectly cooked and the toffee pudding to finish was devine. Please visit this little gem.

There's always a degree of trepidation when, as a visitor, you enter what is obviously a local pub for the first time. However, the West End Bar could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. The bar is a proper, traditional one with polished wooden floor and tables and a good selection of beers and 'top shelf' whiskies. We visited the restaurant as a party of six and were very glad we did. The menu is short, which is usually, as in this case, a good thing. There are the usual pub staples of burgers and fish and chips, but also an interesting choice of more ambitious and 'exotic' dishes. The sharing Scottish charcuterie board went down very well and all our mains were delicious. The one-person service was cheery, attentive and efficient. Value for money is excellent, given the ambience and the superior cuisine . Would we go again? In a heartbeat!

Not much to look out from the outside, but don’t let that put you off because you can be sure of a warm welcome from the lovely English landlady and her hubby (the chef)!! The food, too, is amazing. We had a gorgeous home cooked meal, a lovely bottle of wine (Nero d’Avola red) and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. What I really liked was that if you book your table for after 6.30, the table is yours for the evening. Also we asked the landlady if they would be showing the Euros final and she said they would and to please come back. We did, and had a wonderful night in there with lots of locals and much banter, as you can imagine. We had a lovely conversation after the match with the landlords and they bought everyone in the bar a drink which was so lovely of them! I highly recommend this friendly bar to anyone in the area. Thank you!
