My husband had read about this restaurant before we left for Scotland. After visiting in Tobermorey, we drove down to the car park for Ulva. There was a short wait then a boat ride with a friendly man. There were people eating outside as well as inside. We chose to eat upstairs. We looked at the menu and chose the... More

After having a look at the menu and specials, we decided to go for lobster but they said that they had run out. That was disappointing but I understood so opted for the soup Half an hour later it started raining and we went in to check if there were tables inside and there weren't and they said it would... We usually don't like responding to reviews on trip advisor, because I believe it's important for everyone to be able to express their own opinion and others to be able to interpret that review as they wish. I feel compelled to respond to this one though, for the sake of anyone considering avoiding The Boathouse as this was by no... More

Excellent food. Beautiful surroundings for lunch. Good portions so be careful when ordering. Great place to spend the day. We will return.

Had an excellent seafood lunch here. Really fresh, absolutely delicious and great value. They offer a standard menu plus specials - on the day we visited one of the specials was half a lobster and it was pronounced excellent. Went for a walk and returned for excellent tea and cakes before getting the ferry back to mainland Mull. Ulva itself... More

Two friends and myself visited Ulva and enjoyed a meal here after a fantasic walk to the South of the island. I had a half lobster with squat lobsters, salad and homemade bread while my friends both had fresh prawns with salad and homemade bread. Every item on the plates were delicious and very fresh including the salad. We also... More

Places to eat are few and far between on this vicinity so it’s a bit off-putting to have to pay £6 per head to get over on the boat to Ulva Island if you only want some lunch. Luckily we were planning to explore the island anyway and made an afternoon of it. The café is only open Monday -... More

It's well worth a trip over on the little ferry to Ulva if you're visiting Mull - not least for the chance to have lunch or a snack in the fabulous Boathouse. Run by a couple of enthusiastic young women, the Boathouse is the first place you come to when you get off the ferry and doubles as a ticket... More

So impressed with the food served here we returned a few days later. After making the short ferry crossing we did a couple of the walks around the island which was well worth doing before eating here. Well worth the trip and the seafood platter was excellent. Friendly staff and a nice spot to dine.

Our 3rd trip to Mull but the 1st to The Boathouse, and wished we had visited sooner. The trip to the island had been recommended to us, as had the food at The Boathouse and we were not disappointed. A quick ferry and then in order to avoid the rain we took a walk round the shortest of the several... More

Called in here before a walk round the island. We had a couple of coffees, a piece of coffee cake and a scone with jam. One of the best scones I've had in ages. They also had lobster salad on the lunch menu along with some other choices! What a shame we'd already had our lunch. A great little spot!
