Esteban was fantastic, and took great care of us. The food was excellent, but the service was top notch. All the severs really tried to connect with the tables during service. The food came out promptly and the pitcher of margaritas was amazing very reasonable prices for the area.

This Mexican food restaurant was THE find of our trip to St Thomas. We arrived in the middle of the day and the manager was the only one on duty as some staff had called in sick. That said, he was great in getting us seated, serving and checking on all the other tables, bussing, taking orders on the phone and taking care of customer payments. We were a little worried that the food might be subpar. But we were very pleasantly surprised that our food arrived quickly and was some of the best Mexican food we've had anywhere. The portions were large and the price was reasonable (considering how high-priced St Thomas is). We were staying at Margaritaville and our wristbands entitled us to free chips and salsa. That salsa was also excellent! All in all, this meal was one of the highlights of our trip!

We LOVED this place and Amy!!! She made the night incredibly fun!! She suggested the pitcher of margaritas… And she was correct, the best we’ve ever had. She was so enthusiastic about the menu and especially the steak fajitas, all burritos, The tequila selection and excited about the second location coming soon. There were 4 of us and we Ordered Vegetarian fajita, shrimp fajita, steak fajita and the agave Burger and every entrée was a generous portion and everyone was very happy. The ambience of the restaurant was modern, the bar was beautiful especially the multi colored glass chandelier over the bar… They had an easy location from the port and since it was part of the marina retail there were places to shop and great view of the harbor. Thank you Amy and Agave!!

We have eaten with this group multiple times and decided to try Mexican. Things didn’t start off well, we were being seated at a high top table. It’s not ideal seating when you have a child. I asked the host if we could be moved over to the booth area and she said, “it’s reserved for parties of 6 or more”. On the other side of the restaurant there is booth seating that had 2 different couples sitting at. So ok, we sat at the high top table. At no point did any party of 6 come in, in fact only 2 other people had come in after we did. On to dinner service was average at best. The server lacked any personality and barely greeted before taking our drink order. We had dinner on a Wednesday night. My husband ordered steak tacos and I got steak fajitas. The steak lacked some seasoning in both of ours. He had corn tortillas and they were not appetizing, they were cold and had a strange texture (almost like rubber). To their defense we are from Chicago so perhaps a bit biased on the tortilla side. My flour were small but decent. We also had the 3 amigos app and it was pretty good, we did have to ask for more chips which we were charged $3 for.
Not sure we would be back to this restaurant again, we are yearly visitors to St Thomas and enjoying trying new places to eat. We will stick to the others this group offers as the service and food quality is better.

Took my wife here for her birthday. Drinks came out after appetizers, kids food had to be returned, drinks never refilled, plates never removed, ordered one dessert and got something else.
Honestly it was a birthday so I didn't want to make a fuss... but they brought out a sparkler that ended up burning my wife's hand.
Had to chase down the hostess to get ice. No one seemed to care.
Brought this up to the manager (he seem too distracted to listen) and he comped the dessert.
The server must have been mad because he came back and "mistakenly" added an extra zero to my bill.
Now it's 11pm on Saturday and I'm looking for an urgent care for a burnt hand on a birthday on vacation.
Not cool Agave.... you can do better!!!

My family and I visited the Agave restaurant at Havensight Mall for a business lunch, and the service was horrible from beginning to end. As you enter, the young lady doesn't greet you. Her face is pushed up. She walked off, and we had to assume to follow her to our table. Second, there's a waitress that looks as though she's on drugs, hair needs grooming, and her shoes are so dirty and muddy and need to scrub or throw away. Third, the employees, including the owner, are in and out of the kitchen without proper attire, no hand washing, their clothing dirty, and eye sore. Service takes too long, and they don't check on your table unless they think that you're finished eating. Lastly, the hostess was seen picking up the clean washed forks with her dirty hands by the mouth part of the forks to dry and wrap. They need to do better. The employees need to look clean and presentable. But in all, the food was ok!

Make a reservation. We did ours on Open Table and place was packed at 6:30, and for next hour and a half on a Monday night, Was ignored by waitstaff for 10 minutes after seating. Had Ceviche, and was disappointed. There was a large quantity, but the quality was low. Very little flavor, virtually no lime juice, and a large amount of lettuce, which I have never had in Ceviche before. No cilantro.
Had Chorizo Enchilda with green sauce, which I had been told was hot sauce. It was not. At all. Tasty, but not spicy. Good sausage. I had a Diablo Margarita, which was supposed to be jalpeno infused and smokey. It tasted like the glass had been dipped in the toilet then rimmed in the bottom of an ashtray. The Strawbeery Margarita was so good, hwever, that we had to have a second one. Both drinks were STRONG.
The Tequila/Mezcal menu was 4 pages long.

We're definitely disappointed to wake up to this review! We will be addressing your concerns with our team and taking your opinions into consideration. I can certainly assure you though, the glassware and toilets are kept very far apart... Surprising to hear that you didn't care for the Diablo, as that is one of our top sellers! Happy to hear that you enjoyed our strawberry signature margarita though and we hope to have you back for another one sometime! Maybe we can win you over the next time around!

This place deserves no stars. It seems like their practice is to disregard patrons' safety by ignoring social distancing rules. To abide by the rules, we moved our chairs closer to the people in our party and they decided to add seating to allow other patrons within 3 inches of us. When we stated that we were uncomfortable with being in such close quarters, the bar manager Brian Gillish said that we could move, even though we were already seated and being served, or leave. His statements hurt because we were the only party of LOCALS at the establishment and the Bar manager's behavior was passive aggressive, disrespectful, and condescending. We left hurt and disappointed . I was born and raised here in the USVI and i brought company with me. It seems like he was more interested in fitting more people mat the bar instead of facing the reality that we are still in a pandemic. My family and I had to do tests and wear masks to visit our beloved island and yet we are treated like peasants when we try to give our money back to our community. It spoiled our entire trip. Consider options that value you as a person when choosing a restaurant and skip this one.

We're very disappointed to read about your experience and wish you had reached out to us directly regarding the incident. As a community, we've faced many challenges during the covid pandemic and are constantly working to uphold the ever-changing rules and restrictions implemented to keep our staff, guests and community safe. From marking where bar stools need to be, to constantly reminding guests to wear masks, to politely telling people that no, they can't stand at the bar... It's been relentless and we know tension and anxieties are high. It's unfortunate that this is the impression of us that you're leaving with, and that we didn't have the opportunity to discuss these concerns with you. Agave is a small, casual mexican restaurant & sports bar with a limited menu, but very good, reasonably priced food and drinks. Happy hour (to 6pm) food & drink prices great. Monday night includes a pitcher of margaritas for $20. Great nachos. We ate there four times. Giant TV screen for sporting events.

Stopped in on a Saturday night with a party of 8. We were looking for great food and still be able to watch an NFL Playoff game, and we got both. If you like tequila this is your place. If you don't care for tequila and still like Spanish- Mexican cuisine, this is your place. Pitchers of margaritas, various tequilas and mixers all around, chips and three amigos (salsa, guacamole, and queso). We dined on chicken, carne asada fajitas, shrimp, chicken and beef burrito bowls and cheese quesadillas. Everything was hot, delicious and plentiful. Amy our waitress was a hoot and took great care of us. Runners were also attentive to our needs. We had a great dinner and a great time. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert. Enjoy!

The two of us placed an order for take out. We ordered the Carne Asada fajitas and chicken enchiladas. Both had plenty of flavor and we very tasty. The meals came with rice and beans as well as sour cream and sauce. Prices were reasonable and we would definitely go back.

Going to Agave ,while on vacation in St Thomas, was a huge mistake for me and my family. There’s a reason why there’s a saturation of a particular demographic of patrons here. It felt like the manager went out of his way to devalue us. When we arrived on a Monday night, the corner bar had 3 seats left, so my party of 3 was sat and we scooted closer to each other to distance from others and review the menu. We ordered drinks from the waiter (who was pleasant) and that’s where the pleasantry ended. While waiting for the 2nd half of our order, Brian Gellish, the general manager, forced two more chairs in the space next to us. When we asked if he could adhere to the original, appropriately distanced seating arrangement, he told us in front of the extra patrons whom he had just seated, that if we didn’t like it, we should MOVE — even though we had HALF of our order in front of us and there was no place to move to. We explained that we have abided by all of the testing regulations, mask requirements, and social distancing rules as recommended by the CDC and the island’s department of health and that he was the one making the decision to fit chairs in a space that even Agave had previously left empty. He said that he’s the bar manager, he already made his decision, and if we didn’t like it, we could complain. He sacrificed an already paying party of 3 for a newly seated party of 2. We left feeling dismissed, devalued, and disrespected. My advice: Own your value as a patron. We took our business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same.

Hubby and I made a reservation and were seated immediately upon our arrival. We ordered the ceviche appetizer (which was delicious) a margarita (also delicious) and a beer (ice cold) for starters. Our server, Paris, was attentive and quick to deliver our app and drinks.
For dinner hubby ordered the chicken fajitas and I ordered the carne asada tacos served in a lettuce “shell.” Hubby loved his chicken fajita dinner and I was actually surprised by how absolutely DELICIOUS my tacos were! Usually restaurants offer corn or flour tortillas and I just order my tacos “without a shell” but at Agave they offer a lettuce wrap for any taco! And it doesn’t seem like an afterthought, either. The lettuce was healthy and crisp (I get a lot of limp, warm lettuce for a “bun” or “wrap” so I was truly pleasantly surprised).
The flavors of my taco were so perfect! Just the right blend of meat, guacamole, corn salsa and cotija cheese. So yummy!!
We’ll definitely be back!

Agave exceeded my expectations. I began with the Three Amigos, and each one was packed with flavor! For my main course, I chose the Carne Asada bowl, and it was absolutely delicious—the steak was perfectly seasoned, and the portion was satisfying. My server, Esteban, was outstanding—very friendly and offered excellent suggestions. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with both the food and service at Agave.

After multiple locals and our taxi driver recommending us to eat at Agave, we decided to give it a try. We went on a Tuesday night and it was not crowded. It’s not your typical Mexican restaurant, and it is a little pricey but the food was good. I recommend getting the shrimp enchiladas! The queso was okay, and the chips and salsa was okay as well. It’s a good place to eat, just not above and beyond.
