All 4 of us had different mains, Steak and Kidney pie with a Stilton Crust - Very nice . Duck - Good. Local Pork sausages @ Mash - Very nice. Lasagne... More

Having had an enjoyable walk with the dog along the Severn Way we came back for a pleasant pub lunch. The staff were friendly and the gammon steak and egg were nicely cooked.

Four of us visited the Anchor as a family for lunch. We arrived quite early and were seated quickly. The staff were pleasant and attentive as we ordered drinks at the bar. Menus were offered as we sat at our table and we waited only a short while before our order was taken. The starters arrived and the disappointment began.... More

I ordered lasagne. What I was served was minced beef with melted cheese. No sauce and no pasta. The very angry manager made the situation worse by denying that there was no pasta. There were 8 of us. We all ordered different things and everyone else enjoyed their meal.

This used to be a regular haunt when in the Bristol area, when in the Good Beer Guide. We decided to revisit when we saw it had returned to the guide. We were glad we had! The beer and service were both good. There was a local cider, & specials for St. George's day! There was an extensive menu which... More

This should be the benchmark for any business. The COMFORT and attention to detail in the room was excellent. The pub was friendly and beer good. The food and wine in the restaurant was top class. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nothing but smiling faces for the duration of our 2 night stay. What more can you ask for?

Sunday lunch - delicious, plenty on the plate and beef was nice and tender. Service was great, man behind the bar was very nice. Food served pipping hot and quicjly. Defo a place we would go back to. Very reasonable. Could not fault it.

I went to The Anchor for Sunday lunch with my daughter and son-in-law. The service was excellent, with friendly attentive staff. The dining room had a lovely feel to it.The menu had a wide variety of choices to cover all tastes.I would especially recommend the lemon posset for dessert. There is a lovely garden which we will definitely be visiting in the summer.

Description
The dining room at the Anchor is light and bright with double doors leading out onto the beautiful garden. With elegant country style decor and seating 40, it is extremely popular, so it is always a good idea to ring before you come or call and make a reservation. On Sundays we always offer at least two different roast meat dishes at lunch time. You can dine informally in the garden - in the summer, lounge and public bar where the menu is the same as in the dining room. Although children are most welcome in the dining room and can have great fun playing in the garden, we do like to keep the pub side for adults only.
