We visited at around 4 pm on Sunday and it was the worst meal we have ever tasted. We were a party of 3 and 2 of us had the roast (1 Chicken & 1 Lamb). The roast potatoes were very soggy and brown inside and would say that they had been left overs, Yorkshire pudding so big it covered... More

To sum the place up ...it looks dated and tatty and the food is very average and the beer is very overpriced. Think it needs a much needed revamp ....

Came in for a meal last night with my husband. We struggle to find places where we can both eat happily as he is fussy but the staff were so accommodating and happy to swap things around on the menu for him. It was lovely to have water served at the table without us having to ask. I had the... More

My elderly father & I had a lovely lunch. Delicious Spaghetti Bolognaise, Thai Green Curry & rice & gorgeous garlicky garlic bread. We didn't have long to wait for our meal & it was a very roomy friendly environment, with a nice smaller intimate eating area, & a larger restaurant area. Very modern bar areas & everywhere spotlessly clean. I... More

We followed a tourist route sign following a walking morning we had taken close by. As we were having dinner out we opted for a panini and drinks, nearly £20 in total. The pint of bitter shandy costs £3.70 which I felt was dear. The pub had nothing to endear me to it, no pub memorabilia and a rather sterile... More

As an American revisiting England, I found this pub to be quite enjoyable. Had a lovely midday meal with my husband and English friends. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed my roast salmon with all the trimmings. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend going out for a meal here.

The Black Tiles is one of our favourite stops to visit when we have a few hours spare for dinner, and normally we come away feeling pretty happy and content with the experience. On this occasion, and this is quite difficult to write, we felt slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the staff are lovely and can't do enough for... More
