Another great visit.
Lovely menu and perfect service.
The oeuf meurette was delicious, perfect homard and desserts are better than before.
Maybe a more ambitious cheese plate could do the trick.
A great place to eat and drink.
It was my the second time visiting Le Café de Certoux. Everything was very good especially the foie gras and the venison. We didn't want a bottle of wine and asked the sommelier to choose something for us. We ended up with a Château Prieuré-Lichine...served a little bit to cold, but good.
The deserts and mignardises are always perfect too.
A lovely lunch on a rainy day.More
Another great dinner at this hidden gem.
Went as a table of four.
Staff are friendly but pro.
Took the CHF 95.- menu.
It was all very good but special mention to the Filet de Bar and the Vol au Vent.
Simple but good cheese...plate.
Extensive wine list and and a price for everyone.
A great choice on the outskirts of Geneva.More
A disappointing return to a well known , tastefully modernised village bistro , where the Carte has been over modernised ,but still valorises excellent local wines . Regularily well reviewed by the guide books , we left disappointed , with a rather large bill. The charm...of their past cooking style has been replaced by an ostentatious bewildering Carte of largely delicious food , in small quantity , lost in possibly more practical bowl style dishes. Deserts "re visitee "could be described as interfering with the presentation of a fine traditional recipe presented with simplicity. A great shame .More
Creative, imaginative, delicious cuisine! A family-run (sister and brother) countryside restaurant with a lovely terrace in Summer. The cook, Bernard Livron, regularly changies his imaginative, delicious menus using seasonal food supplies . Good wine list and attentive criendly service. Not cheap but extremely good value!...A real "must" and a treat for a special meal out!More
This is a very old restaurant in the Geneva area that has its regulars and aficionados, and there are very good reasons for this. First the food is good, not reaching stellar levels but of really superior quality, mixing some classicals (from perch filets, to...tartare) to somewhat more sophisticated products (like lobster), so everybody can find something to its taste. Second its unpretentious: the service is professional and efficient, the protocol is followed but there absolutely nothing snobbish there, quite the contrary, simple and somewhat familiar. Third the prices are quite reasonable for what you get. So no surprise it's a pleasure returning "Chez Livron". Now, why not 5 stars in that case? Just because the desserts are really not up to the level off the rest of the menu... the place probably misses a pastry chef (?), so you've got to choose between ice cream with fruits or fruits with ice-cream... some of them have nice presentations but still a very limited choice and not all of the options are convincing.More
