We did enjoy our main courses of fish very much. The salmon was excellent and the sides quite nice as well. But the service was definitely falling down on the job. Could not describe the sauces on the menu when asked to tell us about them. When I ordered ginger ale, brought me a type of beer drink instead of... More

Not sure what has happened to lock fyne but the food and service has been gradually going down hill, after going for dinner this week the place doesn't seem to have anyone in charge while the chefs just chat with the diners and seem to be very laid back and lazy. Our food was very average with over cooked fish... More

Enjoyed a family lunch, using a £10 discount voucher from the wine shop Majestic, which made lunch for 3 just over £30. Service was faultless with attentive staff alert to our needs, fast to take orders and the food also arrived speedily. We all had fish, my son had the children's menu with chips, my wife had the salmon and... More

We had a lovely meal here with both sets of parents. Obviously a fish focus but everyone found something they liked, including the kids. Bit on the pricey side but the food was very good and friendly service, happy to have the kids there too which is always appreciated.

A busy evening slightly overloaded the staff which meant we were not informed that my husbands main would take 30 minutes to cook. When the food did arrive it was very good in both taste and quality. The puddings here are rather unrefined and on the "heavy" side.

10 guys in a dining club who have met for dinner in a different restaurant every 2nd Thursday for 30 years booked for Loch Fyne in Gosforth. As we are a large party we always expect a few hiccups wherever we go but this time absolutely nothing went wrong We had a relaxed drink in the bar for 15 minutes... More

I was having a business dinner with a friend at Loch Fyne , the restaurant is a converted church which is delightfully decorated , food was of very high standard with friendly and helpful staff . Highly recommend it .

We had such a wonderful meal here at this beautifully refurbished church and right in the centre of Gosforth High Street too. There were six of us having a celebratory lunchtime family meal and the two courses for only £10.95 sounded like it was worth a try. The standard of food for such a fantastically low price was quite unbelievable.... More

Terrible slow service. Incorrect food served. And to top it all off a vile main course. Resulting in the worst food poisoning.. give it a miss. Such a shame as setting is amazing.

Well, first of all this is a much more lively LF branch/franchise than the one in Cambridge. Not easy parking nearby. We had a very good time on a Friday evening and the service was efficient and friendly from the beginning. So different to the recent reports posted here. Maybe they have hired in some extra help/seemed like students? Our... More
