Once a month a group of ladies go out for lunch in the area. We have been here before and was not disappointed. Starters including Yorkshire puddings in gravy do a large flat mushroom top with goats cheese were a lovely start to our meal. Main meals included roast duck cooked pink with the offer of more cooking if required... More

Only called in here before for a pint when on a bike ride as the TPT is pretty close, but went for dinner last went. We've been trying a few places in the local area (South Barnsley / North Sheffield) and this has been the best so far. Good and friendly service, great food (Buffalo Burger was delicious) and a... Four of us just got home after enjoying a wonderful lunch. The staff are very attentive and helpful. I can recommend the rack of lamb. We will be going back. We chose from the main menu, but the "two can dine for 10- 99" looked good. The pub is clean and tidy, and the toilets very clean.

First time we've been, but will certainly be back. My mushroom, caramelised onion and goats cheese starter was fantastic. Piping hot, tasty, well presented. The scallop and chorizo starter was perfect as well ! Main course chicken with mozzarella was delicious. A generous portion. The side salad was well presented too. Excellent warm welcome, good attentive service. They deserve to... More

Dear Vicky B Thank you for such a lovely review but in this instance I fear we cannot take credit as I think you have the wrong Waggon and Horses. We stopped here on our way back from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park as it had good reviews and those reviews are well placed. The food was fabulous, the staff friendly and attentive and whilst not cheap pub grub we thought it was good value for money. We're looking forward to going back.
