The service was painfully slow. Waited nearly an hour for main course to arrive.
At least 4 of the 7 orders had been kept waiting in the kitchen. The skate was overcooked. The lamb steak dry .
To be fair half way through my meal they offered to change it,but it was too late and all we wanted to do was pay the bill and leave. The prices are rather high for the type of restaurant and not really value for money.
This is a pity since the location is superb and the front of house staff polite and friendly. Perhaps we picked them on a bad day. Having said that we will not be returning.

We regularly come here for meals and visited the night before the closed due to covid and banging on the doors to visit once it reopened. I booked the restaurant with Joe for my 30th birthday party back in January. The ladies remembered the date and every time we visited they said now excited they were for us. Then covid hit. The staff were brilliant in helping us still be able to have the party within the guidelines without feeling restricted. They recommended a DJ (very good!) who again helped to keep within the regulations. We had a bbq for my 30 guests and everyone complemented the food, great range and also for myself and another guest who are unable to eat gluten they adapted with no fuss. All the food was clearly labelled which put our minds at rest we won’t have an allergic reaction. On the day Debbie and the other ladies helped to put my decorations up and build a brilliant atmosphere. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

With family house-guests arriving, we chose to have a home dinner but outsourced.
We chose H.V. and from their online menu.
We ordered our takeaway in advance to minimise delay.
The collection arrangement was seamless, the food was available, the packaging ideal. As always the proof is in the eating! Here ALL chosen meals were to our complete satisfaction. Good portions, beautifully cooked, excellent ingredients and appealingly presented. SATISFACTION ON A PLATE!
Will certainly do that again.
The ordering was easy , the staff most helpful and pleasant. Well done!

Booked a table for two for an evening meal. After about 40 minutes of waiting, and no food we asked how much longer the food would take to arrive. We were told 20 minutes, thus making it about an hour from ordering to food possibly arriving. We explained we could not wait that long/eat so late (it would have been about 9:15pm by the time food arrived), so we left. It seemed they aimed to cater for more than they were able. I don't think I'd return in future.

I have eaten at the Harbour View on a regular basis over the last few years and have always enjoyed the food. We recently went for a meal. £110 per couple and we only had one dessert, although we did have wine and beer. My dinner came with Samfire but when my dinner came is was spinach, the waitress wasn’t impressed when I asked. The service wasn’t great and the staff were not very attentive. I put this down to the first week being open after COVID. Bring back Dobrinka, she was a great asset.

Extremely expensive and not very good, food poor quality and way over priced as is the drinks.
For example I had the sea bream fillet at ÂŁ20 and it was just one small fillet, very poor. Location and outlook is good.

We pasted the restaurant before they opened and booked a table to use after a walk. The table of our choice was reserved for us there and then.
The staff were very helpful suggesting alternatives and even offered portions from the kids menu as we only wanted a small portion.
Would definately go again

Went to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the sharing menu was fantastic and the food was cooked to perfection.The staff were attentive and the whole atmosphere was great. We had a window view over the marina. A wonderful nite thank you to all the team of this great establishment.

Delicious roast lunch today and some really great, thoughtful service. In these tricky times of mask wearing etc the 2 waitresses did really well and made the whole visit really pleasant.
The starters where really good and my roast beef was great as where the other 5 meals inc 2 kids menu meal.
Wish I hadn’t been tempted by the puddings as I then felt really stuffed after my bread and butter pudding!!
So convenient and really tasty.
The only down side is the new parking enforcement but I’m sure they have their reasons.

I am reading a book from the 1930s called "The Magic of the Swatchways". But my adventure is to discover what restaurants are hidden on the Blackwater. Tonight is a table booked for only me where on my arrival my table is ready and a warm welcome awaits. The menu shows a seafood dish that includes an amazing array of shellfish however the mention of bread asks me to request linguine and pesto!! And a masterpiece is delivered and the staff , friendly service and conversation is second to none.. come enjoy vist and have a great time

So 10 of us, 6 adults, 4 kids from 5 to 12 years booked fir a get together.
Food and service was second to none and the views ( on a beautiful sunny day ) are stunning.
Very laid back atmosphere and I can’t wait to go back having been looking forward to checking out this restaurant for the first time for a while. Highly recommended for families. Well done team !!!

Word of warning - As there was a very high tide covering the roadway , I parked in what I thought was the restaurant car park behind the Harbour View for thirty minutes while my husband and I had a quick drink there . Ten days later I received a parking charge of ÂŁ100 reduced to ÂŁ60 if paid within 14 days for parking without a permit . So my advice is be careful where you park if going by car.

Sorry to hear you received a parking fine. There is an ipad in the restaurant to log your car registration when you dine at the Harbour View.
If you have your receipt and have not yet paid the fine I can look into this for you.
Unfortunately if you have already paid the fine my hands are tied.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoyed your meal at the restaurant and will come and dine with us again.

The Harbour View kindly hosted our extended family and friends for a wake last week and I had to hop on here to leave a review, as the food was so good and we were so impressed by how easy and accommodating the staff were throughout this process.
I think nearly every person there commented several times on how delicious all of the food was, and we happily took home some of the leftovers.
We will definitely be eating here again in future. Thank you to Jordan and the rest of the staff for hosting us and for the amazing food. Great value for money with a beautiful view. Can’t recommend enough.

We have now visited this restaurant on several occasions and have enjoyed every one. The food is really tasty and you get great portion sizes for the money. The views from the restaurant and local walks around Tollesbury are beautiful and a great way to build up your appetite for a yummy breakfast/lunch/dinner.
They are so friendly to families and dogs and nothing is too much trouble!!

Everyone of us in my party of ten were so impressed with this amazing place. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the place was clean and the view of the harbour set it off beautifully. Best of all was the delicious food. The vegetarians were particularly impressed with their pies, the fish and chips were perfect and my friend said the pan fried fish was the best she had tasted in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed my home made cherry pie and custard. All the clean plates showed how much we all enjoyed our meal. Would definitely recommend this bistro to anyone.
