When planning to visit what was considered as one of the best restaurants in the world the only thing I was expecting was great food. However, the result was more than that. I could just say that the food was very good but that would no be enough for describing a meal that started at 8 o'clock and finished at... More

Perfect in every way! A little more expensive than it's supposed to be! But in this place you are not paying only for the food, but also the amazing view from the surrounding widows. The mountains all around and the old buildings are making the experience a lot more magical!

Knowing we would be in Spain, I booked this meal about four months in advance, and I am so glad I did. I can't in this small space begin to describe how brilliant the food was, but sufficient to say we ate all twelve or fourteen courses constantly saying, "OMG, I've never tasted anything as good as this!" Service was... More

Despite an adventure getting there via public transport this was a superb meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and the matching beverages were of a high standard. The home made bread, butter and cheese were the icing on a wood fired cake. The set menu had a good range and the a la carte was there too. If I was... More

We travelled from London to the Basque Country just to eat in 2 restaurants: el Kano (probably the best meal and fish experience I've had in my entire life) and the asador etxebarri. When we arrived we first had some homemade vermouth (delicious) and went for the tasting menu -WRONG MOVE- don't get this wrong, everything was perfectly cooked and... More

It is now considered to be one of the best restaurants in the world. And it is! The great specialty is roasting, and more even, smoking all sorts of products, be it meat, vegetables, fish or anything, really. Exquisite food! And now, with their great service and an upgraded tasteful room, and set in that beautiful valley, it is "mandatory"... More

Beautiful dining room, very elegant. We really enjoyed the food here. The chef obviously takes pride in using quality , fresh ingredients...and knows how to treat his product to extract maximum taste. The food was delicious...but don't expect any culinary surprises...it's not that kind of kitchen, nor do they claim to be.

In the high sierras of Basque country lies this wonderful Asador. Delights abound as each of 15 crafted dishes from the menu roll from the grill into the elegant dining room, goose barnacles, fresh chorizo, and of course steak on the bone. Many ingredients sourced in the village. Excellent wine list, good spot to discover the best of Cava. Worth... More

We got to get a tour of the kitchen after our 3 hour brunch. The head chef is such a warm, friendly and amazing person!! Not only did we have the best steak and prawns, but we got to see horses among the hills in the background! I look forward to my next trip to Spain and Etxebarri!

We visited Asador Extebarri in October to celebrate our anniversary. The food is stunning (we had the tasting menu) and certainly lives up to the hype - Chef Victor Arguinzoniz is famed for his command of the grill, use of local ingredients and attention to detail - all of which shone through in the dishes. The presentation is simple and... More
