We dined here while visiting Rioja Region because of their #10 World ranking. The next day we dined at #7 Mugaritz.... This restaurant should be #1 and I am not sure what food critic would rank the cuisine less here than at Mugaritz. The food at Extebarri is perfection. The service is top notch. The experience is everything you expect... More

The best streak I've ever had! Overall the tasting menu was a little disappointing without many standouts. It was very seafood based and a few dishes felt like misses. I was a bit worried until the beef chop arrived and absolutely blew our minds and made up for any of the other dishes. It was incredible! I can't say I've... More

A car trip from San Sebastián was the perfect way to reach our lunch destination . It was the 2 nd of 3 of top 20 restaurants in the world that we were fortunate in visiting that weekend! The setting of the restaurant in this tiny village in the middle of the mountains is spectacular . It has been said... More

This was a wonderful experience from the time we arrived. Set in a quiet village, the restaurant is surrounded by picturesque views of grapevines and mountains. We had the tasting menu (15 different dishes) with matching wines (6 different wines). Each dish left you wanting more and there was an endless supply of house made bread of about 5 varieties.... Had the tasting menu at the restaurant and really surprised that this is #10 in the world. Outside of the amazing view of sitting next to a mountain, highly disappointing meal.

Everything about this restaurant was outstanding. The food was exquisite-fresh, local and natural. The service was perfect- not too over the top-everything flowed so well throughout the evening. We had the degustation menu and the wines and beer were matched perfectly to each dish. The goat's milk butter with volcanic salt was so smooth and velvety, I nearly cried with... More

I came here based on a TV personality rating and he could not have been more WRONG! The prix fix started bad and got worse from there! This restaurant personifies the bad cuisine of Spain........heavy on the salt......heavy on the fat.........and serve bigger and bigger portions and hope you forget it's bad because they give you so much........we couldn't leave... We planned our journey across Spain to include lunch at the Asador. It did not disappoint. On a fine day the setting was stunning. Look at the gallery on their website. One of us had the full "Degustación" menu with accompanying wines. The other was frightened off by the quantity that this threatened and settled for a smaller selection. The... More

This meal was for my birthday and it did not disappoint. We had a couple of big misses at Michelin starred restaurants the two previous night and I was nervous. As a chef, the sourcing of ingredient and restraint in how they are cooked and presented is amazing. You are not going to get plates of food here that look... More
