The service was excellent Alejandro our waiter was great, friendly, attentive, fast and recommended us with great food. First time coming here and definitely coming back often. Recommend it if you are looking for fresh unique sushi
First time trying Kokai and I really liked the food and the service! The Fragata hand roll was also very delicious it came with crab, eel and salmon. For the rolls we ordered the Tsunami and the Kioto roll 10/10 recommend, very filling rolls and...they came with 10 pieces each. Overall the fish was very fresh and the restaurant itself was very cleanMore
I had a business lunch recently. I was amazed by the salmon salad with seaweed greens. the sushi rolls were large and delicious
Minus the longer than advertised wait for take out, I would highly recommend. The sushi was extremely fresh and flavorful. While a spicy tuna roll is very common, this roll was anything but common, with a delightful kick accompanied by a well balanced flavor profile....Also although we did take out the atmosphere seemed lovely to eat in.More
It's a tiny place but decorated with so many beautiful details but when you get the menu in your hands, it's so dificult to choose what to eat because everything sounds delicious, well not sound because I'm reading the descriptions of every dish in the...menu. When I finally decide what to eat, I order Mother and Daugther Roll; when the dish came to the Table I couldn't belive the size, the generous size of the Rolls because almost in every Sushi Restaurat they serve you tiny rolls but not here, the size and the presentation caugth my eyes, and the flavor was delicious, so fresh, I love it. The Best Sushi Fusion Restaurant with the most variety Menu I ever try.More
I broke my rule of thumb, never eat at an empty sushi restaurant (only one other table used)..... The staff are nice. The seaweed salad was the best part of dinner. It was a good sized serving, but it was room temp warm. I ordered...a rainbow roll. It was good sized, but they left off the avocado. I have had far fresher sushi. Very concerning. Perhaps the sushi chefs should get off their phones and take care of their food?More
Have always been curious about Kokai since I frequent the small Taiwanese restaurant, Red Shallot, next door and decided to give them a try for lunch with my boyfriend. The ambiance of the restaurant is really unexpected and cozy, perfect for an intimate date night...or a special occasion with family. Their menu offers plenty of traditional Japanese options and latin fusion dishes that were really unique to what other places are doing. We started with the Aderzo de Ajonjoli $16.50 as an appetizer which was PHENOMENAL and my favorite dish I ate there. Thin seared slices of tuna were served tataki style in their house sauce with black pepper in a stunning display with seaweed salad as the center of the plate. Alternating pieces of tuna had tiny droplets of sriracha and their house mustard (this is where the fusion comes in) which I was skeptical about tasting at first but once I did, I fell in love with the flavor profile! So unsuspecting! This dish is definitely big enough to have as a large meal in itself and was even a big appetizer for my boyfriend and I. The next roll we got to try was the Kioto $13.50: tuna, krabstick, and cream cheese topped with tuna, krabstick, white fish, shrimp and avocado. We loved this dish especially since it was alike to a rainbow roll which is a usual favorite for me! I don’t usually order rolls with cream cheese but they do it perfectly here but using very small limited amounts that don’t over power the fish you’re eating which I really appreciated! The last roll we tried was actually part of their lunch specials which is everyday during lunch hours for $10.99 and the choice of the chef daily. The day I went the lunch roll of the day was their Miami Chef (usually $16.25): shrimp tempura, chopped krabstick, scallions, and masago topped with krabstick and eel. It looked a little messy and essentially like a seafood salad on top but it was surely delicious and well worth the price for lunch! For dessert we had their leche condensado (condensed milk) cake that was so good that I still think about it sometimes and how I need to come back here just for that cake! Also, the fresh green tea they have is quality and definitely the ultimate hangover cure! I would definitely come back here; especially for a nice occasion!More
Yes ... the location is not the most sought after, but without a doubt it is worth doing 59 miles for this small restaurant in Doral (near Airport). The attention of its owner (Adriana) and all the staff is very, very cordial. And what can...I say about the food ??? There are no words for this experience, for the quality and taste of the Sushi. You really have to book a table and go as soon as you can.More
The best sushi place!!! Very friendly staff! We had mix tempura, yaki meshi and dragon roll The food was amazing, very tasteful.
Every single plate that I tried it was awesome. They have signature rolls that are top of taste and good looking and also they have for example salmon sashimi with avocado and a tangy sauce that is mouth watering 😁...the attention 5 stars, these people...are handsome!!! Not to miss this place, very fresh 💕💕, congratulations 🎊More

So congrats for that 👏🏻👏🏻 the place is clean and decor is nice... this is a must when in Doral...More
We saw some pics on Instagram, and we wanted to check this place. The rolls are just out of this world. The service was very good also, the waiter was attentive and was able to provide feedback on the specials. Seems they will add more...dessert options in the menu, but that is just icing on a very well done cake.More
This place is small in a place where you wouldnt inagine there was this delicious restaurant. The appetizers and sushi were mouth watering. We ordered different appetizers to share and all were delicious. We search this place in Google and we find the menu online...with all the dishes with pictures which makes it better to pick your dish. The sushies were delicious and fresh. Yes. It was a big boat in the middle of the table. Full of amazing rolls, very originals, attractive colors and sensational flavors. My teens were delighted and my mom surprised. No even a little piece left on the boat. Service can always be better....Not a big deal. Reasonable prices.More
