We had a meal here over Easter, the food was all freshly cooked, all eight in our party enjoyed the meal they had ordered, the sea bass was excellent. The serving staff (Jack) was just wonderful, he was efficient, helpful, polite and a lot of fun. We returned twice more during our stay in the area, once for a lunch... More

We chose this pub from the TripAdvisor web site and it was near to where we were stopping. We couldn't decide whether to go in the as car park was small and not organised so difficult to park and the pub looked very much in need of a sprucing . The restaurant consisted of three tables we had the last... More

Decided on here for a mid week dinner with a friend. Lovely place tucked away down a quiet lane, but signposted so easy to find. Surprised to find quite a few people here despite it being Wednesday. Landlord was really obliging and drawing off a sample off delicious Strawberry and Rhubarb cider to try before we bought a pint. Ham... More

Felt really welcome even though we didnt book. We were given a choice of where to sit which was nice. Didnt feel rushed to decide on food. Great local pub with plenty of choice on the menu. The food we had was delicious and homemade puddings were and added bonus. Good atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We visited one Friday evening whilst staying in the area. Firstly, we were very happy that our dog was welcome and there was a lovely open fire to welcome us. The food was freshly cooked and was delicious. There is a wait for food as it is cooked to order but who cares when there is a lovely fire to... More

We are made to feel very welcome at this pub, and it has a wonderful and somewhat traditional atmosphere; the locals are friendly and open, and the building and decoration are just perfect. The menu is consistent and contains very good quality food, making it a favourite place to keep coming to for a comfortable and tasty meal.

Not the greatest of pubs. Very dark and dingy and a fowl smell of stale ale. The local clientele gather around the bar and chatter about local gossip. The man behind the bar who I presume was the proprietor, wasn't particularly friendly and spent most of his time chatting to the gathering around the bar. The food is adequate, tastes... More

We went here last night and loved it. It's a little step back in time - local pub - serving great food. We were made very welcome by both the host and the locals. Nothing was too much trouble - my sister-in-law requested custard for dessert, and got it! Wish I lived nearer.

A little of the beaten track, but sometimes its just nice to try your luck! it is a small pub with a few tables and is clearly popular as it soon fills up during the evening. One of our group had the scampi which was plentiful and well cooked, and the rest settled for the ham of the bone with... More
