This was perfect in summer with the outside seating, although it does get exceptionally busy. The lunch was delicious and the cakes were exactly what I was wanting, as I was looking forward to some traditional Swedish treats. The only issue is that the room...where the cakes are on a big table is quite small so it gets very crowded and there are long lines. Even worse, there was only one toilet! This seemed ridiculous given how busy it can get and the amount of seating outside.More

When in Stockholm jump abord a on boat to Vaxholm in the archipelago. After 50 mn, admiring the islands with a cup of coffee, you are there. A 5-10 mn walk and you arrive at this old wonderful café. Mostly cold swedish food (herring/salmon sandwiches...)...wonderful pastries. Arrive early to get a table by the sea.More

Nestled around the corner from the island's main dock and occupying an old home, one wanders through the various rooms selecting exquisite edibles on the way and exit into a back yard populated with umbrella tables. Truly a place you don't want to miss.

One of my favorite stops on our visit to Vaxholms was Vaxholms Hembygdsgards Cafe. There were so many wonderful desserts set up on a huge table and customers could pick and choose whatever they wanted. It was a great chance to sample some of the...traditional desserts as well as some that were just beautiful and needed to be tasted. It was quite crowded, but we were able to find a table for all 7 of us. It also was quite crowded at the cash register. The cafe is a short walk from the ferry and provides a very nice place to rest after shopping or visiting the castle. The only negative is that there appears to be only 1 bathroom.More

We’d heard of this restaurant but we weren’t too clear on the directions. Needn’t have worried- follow the majority of people leaving the ferry! Despite being very busy, still easy to find a table. Many at the back are close to the water and few...are very far. We chose Skagen and Swedish sausage. Promptly delivered and very tasty! Only one thing to note- there seems to be only one toilet for the entire place. Time your visit well or queue for ages!More

This is THE place for keen cake eaters. There's a pleasant garden for consuming the cakes. Guzzle, guzzle. It tends to get very crowded on warm summer days and the service arrangements are a bit odd so huge queues form at the cash desk. Guzzle,...guzzle!More

A very idyllic cafe beside the sea. The chevre toast was fantastic. Nice ice cream dessert. But the best is the location and atmosphere. You get the Stockholm archipelago vibe.

Went here for lunch but the cakes and setting is what I would go back for. While the lunch was lovely, the choice of cakes was incredible. Would definitely recommend
