Disappointed in Frozen fries

They used to have hand cut fries that were delicious, but today the fries served were definitely from frozen. Took most of them home for someone else to have. Very disappointed . Soup of the day was Tomato and it was good. Our server was lovely. Fresh cut fries are a deal breaker for me when going to a pub.

Decent Small Town Pub

We 2 guys popped in for a couple of beers as our wives were shopping in the area. The wives met us about an hour later and we had a second round of beers. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon and there was only 1 server working, which was adequate for us. The place is nice and smallish as expected. We did not order any food but the menu did look pretty decent with typical pub fare; maybe next visit we will try some pub food.

Very friendly service, tasty food!

We ordered takeout dinner from Flynn's. The staff were friendly with pickup and it didn't take long to make the food. Unfortunately they got our order wrong! But I called them and they apologized and quickly remade the food. I was impressed with how great the staff were, and how delicious and high quality the food was. There was a well-made caesar salad, a delicious burger with that real ground chuck homemade taste, a decadent buffalo chicken poutine that took a few sittings to finish. I can't wait until this place opens up so we can sit down and enjoy a pint!

We walked out… do not go!

We (couple) went on a mini Road trip and stopped into Flynns Irish pub. They had three people working. Do not sit on the patio as they have no full service. You have to go inside to collect a menu and then go back inside to order food and a beer they “will bring it out when its ready” And if you want another pint you have to go back in. We ordered the Guinness stew and they said they didn’t have any (At 5:00 on a Tuesday?!?) The manager was wearing flip flops! Beware. The worst!

Dud not meet expectations!

Although the reviews I read rated this restaurant very highly it did note that the service was lacking. That was actually true but more disappointing was that most of their menu items included mashed potatoes and they were out. Was told that it would take an hour for them to have mashed potatoes. As a result, options were limited and ended up being disappointing, especially the Montreal smoked meat which was cut very thick and was very dry.

Cute Irish pub

My family and I had a delightful dinner at Flynn’s. We were on a mini vacation during Covid-19 and not a lot was open but we were happy to find this gem. I made reservations online (recommended but I don’t know if it’s necessary) and asked to eat outside on their makeshift patio. It’s a convenient location on the corner of the main roads and we easily found parking nearby. We had a great server who made good recommendations and was personable. We started with deep fried halloumi cheese (delicious!) and I had the cottage pie. I’ve never had this before so I’m assuming it’s an Irish dish that’s similar to a shepherds pie with cheese on top. I enjoyed it and soaked up the yummy juices with the garlic bread that came on the side. My husband had a cheeseburger and fries and he enjoyed it. My son had a kid-size chicken fingers and I helped him finish his fries (also good). Service was great and the price was standard for the fare. If we lived in the area we would definitely eat there regularly.

OK but wont be back

Dog friendly patio is on an incline, but ok. Service was slow, over 1hr from ordering to food arriving. Food (haddock and chips) average. Place was busy, and given as a poor excuse.

Glad we stopped in

We stopped in for a mid week lunch as we were in the area and we were glad we did. The staff are very friendly, service was quick and the food and drinks were excellent. The pub has a nice atmosphere and it’s a relaxing place to have a leisurely lunch. We will definitely be back.

Won't Be Back

Having not been here for a couple of years I was looking forward to a better experience than last time. I was sadly disappointed. First of all you can disregard the sign telling you to sit where you want; you will sit where the staff want you to and you will like it. The food and drinks were actually pretty good but the place had all the ambience of a doctor's waiting room. In other words, no atmosphere - certainly not a pub atmosphere! The music was horrible and so loud that it became exhausting trying to converse over it. The wait staff were slovenly and unwelcoming and all in all it was a pretty miserable experience. We couldn't wait to get out of there and won't be coming back (or recommending the place to anyone). Management really needs to step in!

Our waitress Molly was so great. Funny and very good at her job. Fast service and reasonable prices. Would go back! Loved the signage around the building. One said “Daycare for men”

Disappointing

I guess it could be because they’re short staffed from a service and cooking standpoint, but we waited ages for what ended up being very disappointing burgers and fries (and mixed drinks with flat soda). We won’t be returning to Flynn’s.

Small but good value

We are semi regulars, as we live nearby. Good value, traditional pub food, selection of beers, good service. Have been numerous times, no complaints. The place is very small and parking is the funny angled on a hill spots along the street. Good stop if you are on your way to the Kings Wharf Theatre.
