I made a reservation by phone, 8pm dinner with 8 friends; we got there and found a very nice round table the one I prefer; the delicious girasole (home made giant tortelli stuffed with ricotta and served with excellent tomato sauce); spicy salciccia and herbs salsiccia were simply delicious! finally a true Bistecca (>1kg) cooked as it has to be;... We came here following reviews we had read. We were not disappointed. We were well advised, the homemade pasta was delicious and the T/Bone was as tender as you would expect. If we were staying longer we would have come back.

We received a warm welcome and then an explanation of what was on the menu. There was spaghetti as well as two types of ravioli. We each ordered one of the ravioli dishes - one a... More

This is a great place for basic barbecue. We are staying at a nearby Agriturismo and decided not to drive to nearby Siena for dinner. This is a very nice basic Tuscany setting up on a hill. The 4 of us shared the antipasto, a nice veritable salad, fried potatoes and a T-Bone steak. The chef bought the steak out... More

Donata e Donato (La Motagnola), a great place: simple food, generous and well cooked. What you get is a choice of several antipasto, a choice of 4 types of pasta with a ragu or pomodre sauce for the primi course and various meats from the wood fired barbecue flaming at the door. The steak is charged per 100gm, and generally... More

I have eaten here many times, excellent food and hospitality from Donata, donato and Domenico. Fresh pasta and delicious barbequed meat as well as good wine. A very special place where I have experienced very good Italian food, wine and hospitality as well as the artistic photography on the premises and at the time the fortunate meeting of my Italian...
