Friends insisted we should eat here, so made a booking on Monday 18th for the first available table which was last Sunday! So glad we took the recommendation. This place is really good in every way. Lovely terrace for a drink before, table just under cover but still open, amazing food, (roast leg of lamb and BBQ monkish, no teeth... More

It is no surprise that you may have to book well in advance to get a table for dinner. The location, service, food and drinks are great, especially when considering the price. My own favourite is the Chicken Pastela followed by the Secreto of Iberico Pork. Have a pre dinner drink on the terrace of the bar, a wonderful place... More

This restaurant is an absolute jewel, whoever came up with the concept of cuisine and interior absolutely nailed it. Tip: You can have breakfast here for only 7EUR/person including a buffet with Spanish and Arabic specialties, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice all inclusive, even when you are not staying in the hotel. Plenty of vegan options, they even offer rice... More

Great food, we had the BBQ chicken, pork, aubergine and mince, steak and mixed meze starters. The chicken was out of this world and the staff very friendly and attentive. Beware BBQ is only available in evenings and weekends but you would not be disappointed as the menu is so varied.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in Spain with our son, daughter, and four granddaughters. This restaurant was the perfect choice for a special dinner. The restaurant is housed in a historic and tastefully decorated setting. The food, from appetizers to entrees, to wine -- capped off by a beautiful Happy Anniversary chocolate cake -- was delicious. The service was... More

We were staying in a town over called El Palmar and the concierge at our hotel told us to eat at this restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic! It's underground in these cool caves and leads to a beautiful outdoor seating area. If the weather is nice I would suggest eating outdoors however, we ate inside the cave which was... More

It was not too windy and just warm enough to sit outside in the garden/courtyard. (They had blankets on hand for those less stoic). This was excellent news because the indoor space seemed full up. This was a terrific meal; a shared salad for starters followed by a chef’s special each – saffron leg of lamb and Moroccan chicken noodles.... More

Vejer's most popular restaurant has stone vaulted dining rooms and a lush palm-filled courtyard set in an emblematic 16th century building. 'The Caliph's Garden' is one of Andalucia's prime eating destinations. You will be served fabulous North African & Middle Eastern food in a historic, tranquil & unsurpassed setting in the heart of Vejer's medieval quarter. Overlooking the palm filled square of the medieval quarter the Jardín del Califa is inspired by the Moorish rule of Vejer over 700 years ago. The Jardin del Califa is set in one of Vejer's most important historic buildings. The principal building dates from 1527 (and includes parts from the 11th Century) and is now a grade 1 listed monument. The stone clad dining rooms and the palm filled courtyard are the perfect company for your meal with us. Come to the Califa and you will enjoy tasty dishes, stone vaulted cellars, an enchanted garden, a splashing fountain and scented plants. The haven of this quiet corner in the heart of Vejer will provide you with many memorable moments.
