A fabulous evening spent in this lovely wine bar. Great food, we had the large charcuterie and cheese board, washed down with delicious wines. The proprietors are incredibly knowledgeable about all their products, which added to the enjoyment of the evening. A destination in itself,...I would highly recommend!More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Planches et Plonk......so much that we honestly wished we stayed longer. The accommodations were simply beautiful in a quaint picturesque town. We stayed in the larger of the two rooms that faced the back with lovely views. It was...very spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Graham & Damon were the most warm, welcoming and accommodating hosts who are truly passionate about their business. It shows in every detail. The location was perfect for traveling the area. The town of Belves also has a lot to offer and explore. It was a joy to walk and take in the breathtaking views. Plenty of dining options, shops etc. We indulged in a scrumptious charcuterie board caringly prepared by Damon & Graham with a wonderful selection of local cheeses, meats and accompaniments. It was beautifully presented complete with an education of what we were about to enjoy. Overall, our experience was a 10+.More

We had a fantastic visit here as part of our Anniversary trip to the area. We had seen Planches et Plonk on the TV and followed their story from opening so it was a delight to be able to meet the lovely owners and experience...their fabulous local produce and wines. Lots of variety for you to choose from to make up your ‘Planche’ from the meat and cheese options. We enjoyed some different wines that were recommended to go with our mixed platter. A beautiful location, lovely owners and tasty food and wine, what more could you ask for!! The Brie with truffle was amazing, definitely add it to your plate.More

We had first heard of this venue through the ‘New Life in the Sun’ tv show. Located in one of the side streets of the authentic village of Belves, Planches et Plonk is a wine & cheese eatery which also has 2 rooms used for...B&B guests. Entry is via the restaurant and there is then a side door leading up a wonderful staircase both to the owners private rooms and to the guest rooms. Our room’s windows opened onto the street, and whilst we initially had a reservation about this, it really did not cause us any issues either in the evening or early in the morning. In fact, for us, we enjoyed the various noises which were never loud enough to cause any issues. The breakfast provided set us up nicely for the days we were there. We also ate at the restaurant on our second evening and this was a great experience. Damon & Grahame were extremely knowledgeable and helpful about the cheese and wine selections. A special mention here to Jo, who was excellent in her suggestions and customer service. You felt more like a friend than a customer, which, for us, was exactly what we prefer. Both the owners were more than happy to share their knowledge and experience with not just us, but also other guests. We would happily recommend a B&B stay and a visit to the restaurant. We certainly look forward to a return in the future.More

We loved lunch at Planches et Plonk. Great food, great service, a wonderful experience all round. We ordered the grand platter of local cheeses and meats with a variety of bread - it was plenty for the four of us. Along with the food we...enjoyed some lovely red and rose wines from Chateau Montdoyen & Domaine de l’Ancienne Cure as recommended from Graham. Sadly it was raining when we visited so we couldn’t sit outside but the wine bar is really nicely decorated. Service from Graham and the team was spot on and it was nice to meet Malbec although I think he was only after our food !! The bill came to 120 euros for the four of us which included service and coffees / teas. A wonderful lunch, it’s just a shame that Planches isn’t based in the UK as we would be there every week.More

Fabulous in one word. Graham and Damon are fantastic hosts, so welcoming and they have a gorgeous place. Their property is in the stunning location of Belves with the most amazing views from the room we stayed in, the perchamant room. The room was so...beautiful and very relaxing and it was so peaceful. Breakfast, yummy and fresh with great tasting and very big! croissants Their wine bar below the rooms is so classy and a wonderful place to while away the time!! drinking the most wonderfully tasting wines and eating the most amazing cheese and charcuterie selections. Graham and Damon are the perfect hosts for such a venue and mention must got to the wonderful ladies they have working for them in the bar and to damon for his delicious homemade cheesecake. If you do get chance do visit their wine shop in the square which has a great range of wines to buy, some of which you may have sampled in the wine bar. And one final mention must go to Malbec, their gorgeous rescue dog, he is also a great host! All in all, wonderful, if we could give it more than 5 stars we would!! Thanks Graham & DamonMore

We were lucky to get a table outside and we’re so pleased we did! Service from one of the owners was prompt and friendly. The menu was explained and advice given and we were not disappointed. Platters of locally sourced meat and cheeses, fresh bread...and beautifully presented - really delicious. Visited their wine shop afterwards to buy the wine we had with lunch! Would definitely recommend and will return one day we hope.More

We stayed here during our trip to the Dordogne to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was fantastic with lovely views overlooking the stunning countryside. Damon and Graham were excellent, attentive hosts who took the time to make us feel welcome. Their knowledge of...cheese and wine is as superb as the food and drink they serve. We ate and drank there two nights and couldn't have been happier. Breakfast was a nice relaxing continental style in the company of the dog Malbec who stole my wife's heart! We are sure to be back one day to enjoy your hospitality another time. Until then all the best for the future.More
