We had really good coffee there the first morning, went back the next morning for a quick breakfast which was also very good. Great service and a lovely place to sit and enjoy.

We enjoyed breakfast here on 2 mornings. Very nice bakery and a few tables to sit and enjoy the delicious coffee and food. Limited menu
We ate here 3x in the last 10 days; every time great service, food and enjoyment. We have half sandwich each allowing room for there excellent desserts too. My husband's favourite are the cupcakes while the chocolate peanut butter toffee bar is my favourite.
We stopped in one morning while travelling through the area. They had a wonderful selection of baked goods and frozen food items. They make breakfast and lunch too, with lot’s of seating. You can help yourself to a glass of water. We enjoyed our muffin...and scone and tea.More
This is a place I have come many times because of the gluten free options. Until recently I would have always given it a five star review. That’s why I made a point of taking my mother-in-law there for lunch one day last week. If...that had been my only experience of the restaurant ever, I would have given it a 2 star review. So I am compromising with a 4. What makes this cafe great in my opinion is the gluten free option. They even have a dedicated gf toaster for options with gf bread, Staff have always been attentive to food allergy requests, which makes it a place we return to regularly. Where the restaurant fell short in my last visit was that our order took exceptionally long to prepare. They also seemed to be short on some things like coleslaw, and substitutions were made without consultation. Consequently the presentation was lacking on one dish, accuracy of menu description was lacking on another, and a wasteful substitution was made for the other, I left feeling embarrassed that I had made a point of driving my mother in law over from Collingwood to try this great cafe we have loved so much in past. Nevertheless, since it has been excellent previously, I would certainly give it another try.More
I can’t say enough about this place. The menu has something for everyone, the food is so fresh and good and the staff are always smiling and courteous. We are newbies to thornbury but it’s has quickly become a favourite
We bought their delicious gf bread that our B and B had. Then we stayed for a quick bite. The soup was superb as well as the danishes. Lots of tables for seating inside and out.
Staff seemed overwhelmed and had little inventory. Never heard of a restaurant/bakery that runs out of white bread at lunch time. Food was not worth the price we paid. Reuben sandwich had hardly any meat on it and was supposed to have Swiss cheese but...had something different. My sandwich was also burnt and not very good. Will definitely not return.More
Great little cafe for coffee. We started wtih coffee and chocolate croissant , and ended up going back several times for take out breakfast sandwitches. BLT, on multigrain and toasted western on sourdough. Both were great. We went back the next day for more of...the same. Very friendly staff, and efficient service. Order, get a number, and then wait outside for your order to prevent too many people inside.More
We went for lunch. Place now has no table and chairs inside or outside. Prices seemed pricey. We had an avocado chicken sandwich which was $14 with tax. It was delicious.
We were there for the week of July 25th, good service and quality goods, sandwiches. keep up the good work.
Opened in 1901 How the hell have they stayed open? I didn't think it was possible to screw up a cup of tea...but they managed. Ordered the Masala chai, possibly the worst I've ever had. The sandwiches were mediocre at best Service was slow, on...the verge of inept.More
Friendly staff, need to wait outside due to space constraints. They have the best buttery, melt in your mouth palmier cookies. Had an omelette to take out for breakfast. You place your order, exit the bakery to wait outside. They have a window to pass...your order through when ready.More
The place can be super busy at times. The staff is very friendly and polite. Great specialty flavored coffees. A great place to stop for Brunch and or Lunch. Great sandwiches.
I'm a regular at the bakery... My go to is the rainbow bowl at lunch which I highly recommend if your a salad junkie. So good fresh and filling. But the frozen meals not so much. I got the cabbage rolls and Shepard pie. Both...were flavorless and awful. Was disappointed.More
