The Drunken Sailor was bought a couple of weeks ago and is now Oyster Cove Cafe and Bar. My mother the enjoyed battered oysters (she's an expert on oysters) while watching the oyster boats come back into port, and I enjoyed my good sized helping of mussels with creamy sauce. This came with very friendly and genuine service. The view... More

After driving from Queenstown we found ourselves snapping photos under the signal point sign. We noticed this restaurant on the slopes, we were greeted warmly and tended to appropriately. We had the battered Blue Cod, delicious!!

Called in for a coffee and snack for we had very good service and very good food here last visit ( see earlier review of this establishment). I had deep fried blue cod ( again), my partner had a bowl of seafood chowder. We had fond memries of past identical seafood meals two years prior. We realise chefs and cooks... More

The location with its beautiful view and end-of -the-world feeling makes this a very good lunch stop. The food is also good but the interior could do with an upgrade.

first we'd like to say our waitress was really nice :) and helpful. we went for lunch and got salmon, mussels, seafood chowder, and some bread. salmon was cooked really well, and mussels weren't bad. but we weren't overly impressed given the price (about 100 total).

We arrived early for lunch and were warmly welcomed and given a great table. The service was quick and efficient. The seafood chowder was excellent and we shared a single person platter which had a great variety of seafood but probably too much batter and too little salad to be really good. Having just walked to Stirling Point we were... More

Visited late in the afternoon. A great day, brilliant views however was disappoint by the staff attitude. Didn't stay long as were put off by the staff attitude. The sign post and artistic aluminium chain presented many photographic opportunities.

We visited Bluff during our drive to the Catlins. It was a weekday at lunchtime when we stopped for lunch here. There must have been something off for the cafe this day. We were looking forward to enjoying our Bluff oysters however... It took over 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. It took almost 90 minutes for us to... More

Myself and a group of girlfriends spent a Sunday lunch there and it was brilliant. The service was extremely quick and the staff were more than pleasant. Atmosphere was perfect with an amazing veiw. I will definitely be returning to this place.
