Ate here twice during a 5 day visit. A good few different varieties of food, so if pasta or curries are your favourite, you'll be fine. Also lighter meals and snacks to enjoy!

Arrived in Barra quite late with nowhere booked to eat, so lucky to get a table in cafe kisimul. The food was excellent - both curries that we ordered were very tasty, and the burger my son ordered was by his accounts "delicious". Service was a bit erratic but friendly. Would definitely eat here again, there is a lot on... More

Service was OK, speedy. Food was good, fresh and tasty sea food but I personally just didn't feel warm & welcomed there. They did play good music though, I give them that. A friend who I met there said the curry was great so that was good too I guess.

Delicious meal, and a busy bustling place. Make sure you book, it is well worth it. We had prawn, lamb and chicken curries. The prawns were so tender they were clearly fresh from the sea probably only hours before.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here one evening. Quick service. Good varied menu - we chose Indian options, but there were also italian and scottish dishes.

Visited this place on the recommendation of its vegetarian and vegan options (hard to find in this corner of the world) and was not disappointed. We had the red lentil daal and spinach and chickpea curry, sharing a portion of rice and a roti between two, with some Hebridean beer. The food was delicious and the portion sizes plentiful! We... I would normally worry about an Indian Italian local seafood cafe with reggae music. Don't. Just eat there. Fully booked for a reason, so plan ahead.

Cafe Kisimul is one of my favourite restaurants to go to when I venture out to the Outer Hebrides to visit friends, it's always worth the trip along. When I first heard of Cafe Kisimul and their scallop pakora speciality dish from a friend, I wasn't sure what to make of it, but boy was I wrong. The batter is... More
