Had 2 evening meals here over 4 days. During the day this is a typical cafe serving tea, coffee and light meals. In the evening it's all change, 2 sittings 6pm and 8pm. A small selection of Indian and Italian starters and mains, all the ones my wife and I had were excellent. With local beers and a small but... More

Passed this little gem on exploring Castlebay. Curiosity led us to wander in for dinner, curiosity didn't kill the cat ! We enjoyed a fabulous meal in a tiny cabin decorated with fantastic imagination, loved the squirrel tealights on the table, friendly and efficient service. Decided to return the following night, on opening the door the cafe was full, however,... More

Local produce at its best. Service could not be faulted. Food magnificent. Not much more to be added, but I will. My wife and I shared to scallop pakora for starter, what a choice. Coming from the curry capital of Bradford I thought I had tried most of the imaginative menu choices. The pakora was wonderful. I opted for traditional... More

We ate on a Friday evening and had booked which was important as they were very busy. Tasty food, well cooked and served promptly. We had scallop pakora start, scampi amd chips and smoked salmon spaghetti. Good sized portions. I'd recommend it but do book!

Justified the good reviews. Lunch was for our family, fish n chips, soup n cream tea, and Barra cockles, all of which were perfect...along with the cheerful, welcoming efficient service. We planned to have our last-night-on-Hebrides-meal here but they were fully booked plus plus, so booking advised.

Stopped for lunch, and on reading the menu, decided we had to enquire about dinner. Yes two sittings for dinner and we could get in on the later one. That decided, we had bacon & egg and bacon & black pudding baps for lunch, yum. Returned for dinner, and although we had to wait for some of the earlier diners... More

However on 19th August decided seen food was so nice to go back but to just have a takeaway different staff members on and service the provided was worst ever seen. Great curries in a lovely setting. Very small so book ahead for dinner. Very friendly staff. (Thanks for sorting us out last night despite the mix up - we were the wedding anniversary couple).

An excellent, if quirky, dining experience. Scallop pakora not to be missed; desserts a bit disappointing. Book in advance.
