The owner, Max, waited on me and was terrific. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee too.

Every year a group of us meet for breakfast to celebrate having the day off for 'Jeune Genevois'. We used to go to Jiva Hill, but this year we thought we would give Jim's a go! I rang first thing in the morning to let...them know that we'd be coming, but they only opened at 10.00 and had not listened to their messages! We ordered what we wanted at the till and sat down and waited an age for the food and drinks to arrive...and when it did, it was in dribs and drabs. A coffee here, a meal there! We all ate at different times, because they were unable to bring our order out all at the same time. One of the men in the group got up after his meal and walked out, because his tea had still not arrived! Everyone complained about the service and nobody wants to repeat the experience! This was not the first time i had been to eat at Jim's, i have taken my daughters there for Sunday lunch, they were terribly disappointed with the pies they ordered, and i was not best pleased with the quality of the meat in the English Breakfast. atmosphere serviceMore

My boyfriend and I first visited Jim's restaurant when it first opened in its new location in the more central part of St Genis. Unfortunately there was only one vegetarian option, a veggie burger which I always try to avoid as they are normally bread-crumbed...mush burgers, and sure thing, that's what it was. My boyfriend's fish and chips was also exceptionally small, it looked like a normal bit of fish had been cut in half. So we were reluctant to go back. However, after seeing on their website that the dinner menu had changed and consisted of 3 more interesting vegetarian choices, we decided to give it another go. On arriving we were seated and given a one-side paper menu. There were only 2 other tables, so it was not busy at all. My first problem was that the menu was not the same as the one advertised online, and again, the only vegetarian option was a vegan burger which made my heart sink. There were also not as many dishes for meat eaters as was advertised online and there were no descriptions of what anything was, so it was just a stab in the dark about what might come out i.e. did the burgers come with chips, did the fish and chips come with peas etc? I would have thought menu descriptions would be an essential part of any restaurant that wants to be taken seriously. But as we had already been seated, we decided we would still give it another go and I was planning on asking what had happened to the better online menu. So we waited .. and waited for our order to be taken. The waitress was at the counter with what we initially thought was a shop customer. So we waited some more. However it became clearer that the 'shop customer' was probably the waitresses friend who she was just standing chatting to. About 10, maybe 15 minutes passed, then a table of 5 came in, they were seated and within one minute their order was taken. The waitress then disappeared out the back completely ignoring we were even there. At this point we decided that a) we didn't really want to eat anything on the menu anyway, b) even if we did order, our food would now come out after the table of 5, and c) we were unhappy that we'd been completely forgotten about, despite there only being 2 tables in prior to us arriving. So we got up and left and went across the road to O'Brasseur (where incidentally we ordered, got our drinks and even our food in the same amount of time we had been waiting for our order to be taken at Jim's, despite O'Brasseur being much much busier). Also, during the time we were waiting, we had chance to look over the menu and in all honesty, I can not work out how they price their food. The vegan burger was the same price as the meat burger (?) which was also the same price as avocado on toast! 15 euros for avocado on toast?? A bacon roll was only 5 euros and you could add avocado for an extra 3 euros ... which implies that the toast alone costs 12 euros? Maybe it came with extra, but as there was no description, we just took it at face value. And again, the breakfast menu was not the same as advertised online, with no sign of a vegetarian full English. This place just seems like it doesn't really know what its doing and I think the only reason it's staying in business is because of the massive mark-up they make on their shop products (10 euros for some cider that still had the £4 price tag on). I think we can confidently say that we will not be giving this restaurant a 3rd chance.More

Hard to beat the service and quality at Jim’s... So we keep coming back- breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!! We especially appreciate the gluten-free options which are so hard to find in this region.

Popped in to get English cheeses which are not available elsewhere. Jim always remembers and welcomes his customers warmly.

Been here a few times but the last visit was the most memorable experience as we were left a little disappointed in the previous visits (long wait/order did not reach the kitchen, ran out of certain food before noon, or overburnt food). They have stepped...up the game and definitely met our expectations with generous portions of food. We will come again!More

We have been to the new look Jim’s a few times now for brunch/Sunday lunch. The first time the service was a bit slow (although pleasant), but they have since got much more organized and service is now excellent. Food is consistently fresh, with generous...portions and a good menu and drinks choices. A very welcome addition to the area.More

We stayed for a work event at the Palexpo (Geneva) and came to Jim’s for dinner once, breakfast once and used the shop A LOT! Very helpful staff, polite and always keen to do as much as they can. Food was very good, the shop...ya EVERYTHING a Brit abroad might need. They opened late one night just for us to get a few things from the shop. 20 mins drive to the airport so ya day for that. Would recommend and definitely come again!More

I was welcomed by a smiley and agreeable Hannah or Anna... we talked a moment while I was discovering the premises. I used to go the former Jim's in St Genis and was longing to visit this one. Only negative point was another young man...that was a bit in a rush, no eye contact, no smile, nothing "human"... he couldn't even give me a ticket until I insisted a bit. Coffee was good, atmosphere as well.More

Visited Jim’s this week for fish and chips with my two boys despite having some reservations from previous visit. Service has vastly improved, nice to see some of the old staff back again especially Michaela. Still miss the kids toys area but feels good to...see Jim’s back to where it was before the move!More
