The Woldstad Gard homepage states: "Only open on request" so I was disappointed. But I wrote and asked if it might be open on July 7. I got a lovely answer that they will be open. July 7 is my husband's Names Day (important day)....And I can tell that he became very surprised when we left Åndalsnes and drove to a private farm. We were greeted by the owners Gudrun and Guttorm who said that we would be their only guests for that evening. We felt like king and queen and were shown to a beautifully laid table. Gudrun and Guttorm had composed a special dinner for us with all the special food we are so fond of (I might have mentioned a word or two). It was all absolutely delicious! Gudrun cooked and served and Guttorm took his time to communicate - all so interesting! It is sometimes difficult to write reviews. I would have liked to write several pages! This experience was more special to us than a Nobel Feast dinner. We know! Because this experience was all about us and we will never forget this - our very best memory from our Norway journey!More

On a trip around the " Alps of Norway " we had the fortune to stop for lunch at this fantastic farm. I cannot find the words to describe the perfect solution, one must experience this yourself. I cannot wait to come back.

We stopped by after normal lunch hours and before they were actually open for visitors. Graciously, they obliged us with an absolutely stunning meal, which we later decided had been the best meal during our entire two week stay in Norway. We we lucky enough...to simply stumble upon this lovely oasis by asking google maps to direct us to the nearest restaurant, but it is worth a major detour. In addition to the fabulous food, the setting is gorgeous. Beautiful gardens and free ranging ducks and chickens.More

It was already pretty late for dinner for Norwegian standard but we stopped by without reservation. A very nice knitting session with 15 women circa was going on but they welcomed us anyway and offered us pie, salad and coffee and cake that they were...having as "kveldsmat". Very nice and welcoming. I only regret we couldn't taste "real" dinner. Hope we'll do that another time!More

Family run business. Set on a rolling hillside with views over a picturesque fjord and mountain background, charming staff and excellent hearty cuisine await you. I'm assuming this extablishment caters for private functions, as opposed to single table reservations - I may be wrong !...RecommendedMore

We just had 2 nights at Klokkarløa witch is located at Woldstad gard. We rent it though air Bnb. The first thing we saw was the beautiful house and farm. We got an amazing bbq meal at the restaurant at the farm ( had to...book it in advance ). We had a tour though the farm ,they had a small shop with ecological things they make at the farm and a secondhand shop! We walked the mountains during the day,and jade bond fire outside the hut at nights. The host were lovely people how gave us all kinds of help and tips. We can highly recommend this place to everyone!More

We were looking for a nice place for dinner on this sunny warm late afternoon. Looking at Trip Advisor Woldstad gard Restaurant caught our attention, but we could not find out if it was open. We decided to take the chance. We arrived at this...charming farm surrounded by a colorful garden and were welcomed by Gudrun which spontaneously offered to cater us to a set menu. We choose to sit in the garden. It was overwhelming! - Blueberries welcome drink while watching the majestic scenery - Juniper wood smoked salmon and salad, herb bread rolls baked in own wood oven - Deer meat burgers with potatoes and sweet potatoes, garden greens - Home made ice cream and blueberries Excellent dinner with prime products! We also treated us to a glass Côte du Rhône We had a very enjoyable time with very good value for money!More

Thanks for stopping by, and for your nice comment! We try our best to serve those calling, although it would be safer to order in advance, as we are open on request only, and mainly for groups. This summer we will try to keep open...More
