Very fresh food. Excellent service, prompt and kind! I would recommend the seafood, which is very fresh. The location is not the best, but everything else is great!

Absolutely amazing potatoes and grilled goat cheese. Would definitely recommend. Although the place doesn’t look fancy, I can assure you that is absolutely tasty.
Fabulous paella , meatballs , chickpeas, grilled veggies, meat very savoury …best in a werk Tenerife. Very good service, good house wine. Home made cheese cake to die for!
a very friendly place with a very beautiful view of the sunset. Absolutely delicious food and decent prices. And the waitress from Italy is extraordinary! I definitely want to come back there
We found this gem a few months ago and have returned on 3 more ocassions. It has friendly. helpful staff that serves some really tasty, excellent tapas. We took 2 friends from Italy and enjoyed a long, leisurely lunch on our last visit. They were...very impressed.More
In case you share my confusion there are two places, Alfonso’s Bar which overlooks the beach and Alfonso’s Restaurant which is closer to Los Gigantes and has a slightly bigger menu. In any case we were at the bar but given some of the other...pictures and reviews under this location i can see they are for the restaurant. We had a good spread of the menu from tapas to burgers. Everything was top-notch. It was my first taste of mojo potatoes enjoyed alongside black sausage, calamari and chickpea/pork stew – all delicious Cocktails were also lovely. Small warning is their seating is on the street and fairly limited, not sure if they take bookings but it does get busyMore
What to say except it was excellent. The kitchen was perfect. The personal was competent, professional and very kind. So the ratio quality/price is on the top. Must to be recommended.
Well, we love Alfonso's! We are at the end of a lovely week in Puerto Santiago, Tenerife and just having a late night decaf here. We can honestly say that the two amazing meals in Alfonso's were the pinnacle of our fine dining experience on...Tenerife. Our first meal we had a huge amazing sea fest of a paella absolutely delicious and well worth the wait, it was specially prepared and served with panache by our waiter (from Napoli!) Michele. We thoroughly enjoyed it!! A couple of nights later, we came with our daughter and her family, and had another memorable evening. We had several starters, Padron peppers with tasty dipping sauce, grilled vegetables, sizzling prawns in garlic, lots of bread provided. Then for our main we had another paella, and grilled goat's cheese for the veggitarian, which was yummy!! All very fresh hot and tasty. And then some desserts - my grandson aged 4, wanted ice cream, and was delighted to get a big bowl of chocolate ice cream!! He was in heaven! Altogether, an experience we will remember for a long time!! Thank you Alfonso's and Michele!!More
We went for our last night and chose the paella for 2 which was cooked fresh and with a wait for 40 minutes but was well worth it. It is a popular place and would recommend booking in advance. Always a good sign when the...locals eat there.More
Brilliant food including good portions of Tapas and fresh fish. Small restaurant. Doesn’t look much but don’t be deceived. It’s exceptional. Going tonight for the third time. Best to reserve.
We are regular visitors to Puerto Santiago and stay in the apartments above Alphonso's Bar so visit often for meals and drinks. We know the menu well and our favourites are carne fiesta, albondigas and volcano chicken and the food is of a consistently good...quality. With a higher number of tourists in the area and the popularity of the bar it is always busy and often it is necessary to reserve a table. It was lovely to see Sara still working there, she works like a Trojan waiting at the tables and keeping everyone happy with a big smile.Such an asset to the business as is the hardworking Carlos, always greeting us by name. Looking forward to our next visit already.More
The staff here are the most foul mannered and rude people that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Do not give these people a dime.
We always go to Alfonsos at least half a dozen times when we come over for our January holiday. The food and service is first class. I particularly like the Canadian goat meat and volcano chicken. Its also nice to stop for a coffee in...the morning. His white house wine is also the best. Give it a try, we go to the bar up the hill not the restaurant as its on our walking route.More
Been patronising Alfonso’s Bar regularly for many years, as I spend about 8 weeks a year on holiday in the area. It’s always been top notch but this time I’m afraid not. Sara the server is a real asset to the business as she’s hard...working, friendly & knows the menu well. Five stars to Sara! That’s where the positive aspects of my latest visit end. I ordered the whole dorada with onions. The fish was massively over cooked and had completely dried out. Not an onion in sight either. Instead it was cooked with just peppers. Previously it came with both. The price was 25 euros, which is way higher than other eateries locally. Price has never been an issue for me before, because the food has always been pretty perfect but, the price has risen significantly since my last visit and the standard of cookery has gone downhill significantly. I’m afraid I feel they are now overcharging. I paid in cash with more than the bill amount and never got the change either, which I think speaks volumes. I was so disappointed with my meal that I decided to cook myself a whole Dorada in my apartment the following night. It cost less than 6 euros at a local supermarket. First time I’ve cooked a whole fish I’m embarrassed to admit as I love fish. It was a little overcooked but it was still moist so, far better than they managed to cook it at Alfonso’s. Would I go there again? Yes. Would I have the same meal again? Probably not. Great shame as it used to be my favourite ever meal. Alfonso himself used to run this eatery but now runs his own restaurant nearby. This lovely place is the worse for it. Sorry Alfonso.More
We ate here yesterday, a group of four adults and had seafood paella and vegetarian paella. The food was exquisite. If it’s possible to have perfect paella this was it. We had canarian potatoes which were the real thing. This meal was an experience. When...I’m back in Tenerife I’ll be eating here again.More
