Four of us went to celebrate our respective anniversaries. We were staying nearby at an all inclusive hotel, but we wanted a special evening and we weren’t disappointed. I had reserved a table before we went to Tenerife and I’m glad I did. All the tables are outside overlooking La Gomera. The menu is small, but I prefer that as it usually means the quality over quantity. The staff were lovely, especially the one who took our order - didn’t get his name, but what a character! Three of us ordered the halibut with mussels and a delicately flavoured creamy curry sauce. It was absolutely delicious. The fourth ordered the fish casserole, which would have done for at least two people - a mass of chunky fish, mussels, etc. The halibut came with canarian potatoes and vegetables were extra, but weren’t needed as the portions were very generous. We had to wait a long time for the food to come, but again we didn’t mind as we were enjoying sitting out, hearing the sea, drinking our wine and chatting to the other guests. The food came out freshly cooked and nice and hot (can’t stand tepid “hot” food!). All in all an excellent evening, which more than lived up to expectations. Recommend you book though!

Having reserved a table earlier in the day as this restaurant is very popular, we were seated on the terrace which overlooks the sea and gives a great view of the sunset over La Gomera (cloud allowing). As the name implies, the fish dishes were first class although there are other options to fish on the menu. Service was good and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. We so enjoyed our visit to this restaurant and would definitely return

For the views and sunset alone this bar and restaurant needs a visit, however add in the food and it became probably the highlight of our holiday. Cost firstly, a shared starter, 2 mains, a bottle of cava and water, slightly over €70. Maybe a wee bit more expensive on the surface, but to me it was fantastic value for money! Starter was grilled prawns in garlic, absolutely gorgeous and 1 serving was more than enough for both of us, I counted 10-12 prawns! I had chowder, which was a huge meal in itself and absolutely delicious, and the other main was the rack of lamb which I will have on my next visit!! It was sumptuous with Canadian potatoes. The host Carlos is a gentleman, and has a great balance of fun and politeness, that made us feel so welcome! One point of note, as he points out, the wait time may be a little longer due to size of kitchen and everything being freshly cooked, but sit back enjoy the atmosphere and views, relax and when your food arrives it will be so worth it. As I said at the start the highlight of our holiday and we look forward to it becoming a regular experience for us!🙂👍

Owner was probably the only rude individual we met in the whole of the Canaries. After ordering appetizers and drinks, I simply stretched my legs and lifted them just a bit to rest them on the table's legs, near the ground, not on the table. The owner comes from no-where and rudely asks me to place my feet on the floor. In disbelief, I asked him if he was joking, as no one had ever made such a request from me before, anywhere in the world. He said that he was not joking, and that if I did not comply, I had to leave the restaurant. I reluctantly complied and we said that he could then just cancel the appetizer order, and that we'd pay for the drinks and leave. He said: 'Oh no, the appetizers are already being cooked, so you have pay for the whole thing and then leave. To end this mishap, we quietly finished our drinks and quickly ate the appetizers since we had to pay for them anyway. Since the owner was such an angry dude, we were even afraid that they might place nasty things in our food, and were reluctant to eat it. When I expressed such concern, the waiter, a decent chap, seemed to be offended that I would even think that. In any case, we quickly and quietly finished what we ordered, paid and left. The owner thinks his place is a fine dining location, but that is simply laughable. Avoid this place if you seek friendly and kind service.

So disappointed . We had such great expectations as our friends had been a few times. Our meal was booked for 8.30 and our starter didn't arrive until 10pm x huge number of prawns but tasteless and waited so long we were put off our main meal. Huge plate of tasteless fish cowder. We just couldn't eat it ...no fish taste no kick no herb infusion ...nothing . We mentioned to owner who was friendly initially but became aggressive when we told him that our experience was more than disappointing . Would not recommend 😕

We had high expectations since restaurant is lying in a wonderful place with awesome view and close to the ocean. Plus after reading all good opinions...but...3 of 4 fish to choose from in the menu were frozen/imported . The one we ordered was local but the cheapest fresh fish you can get hold of. It came a bit overcooked, and the salad had a pre-made dressing, animist to the one you buy in the supermarket next door. We are surprised over all good opinions, next time we will buy a pizza slice or something like that. Owner has absolutely no passion to food 👎

Absolutely amazing food and very entertaining host. The garlic prawns were fantastic and the chowder ridiculously good. My only tip would be not to have a starter if ordering the chowder as it was huge but correspondingly delicious. Our host was very amusing but great fun and the time we spent waiting for the immaculately prepared meal was well worth it. Even the price was inexpensive for what was great fare. Visit if in the area, it’s a must.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and wonderful food. The prawns starter was the best I’ve had. The main meal of salmon was perfectly cooked and accompanied by roast potatoes and vegetables.

We've been to Fisherman's twice now - both times we had an excellent evening. The owner is exceptionally friendly; if you're lucky he'll let you try the 'family medicine', but I won't tell you what's in it.... He balances being an excellent host with keeping his distance and allowing you your privacy as a couple. The view over the harbour is excellent and the restaurant itself intimate and homely. Oh yeah, and the food is fantastic. The garlic prawns are possibly the best I've tasted and the lamb was incredible. It's simple food, done very well indeed. If you're in the area make a trip over one evening, you won't regret it.

We found this restaurant a few years ago and have kept coming back for the fantastic food, great views and the marvellous host. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked whilst you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the views and the comic charm of the host. This is not a fast food place so be prepared to wait whilst the chef cooks your fish to order, we had the garlic bread and fresh tomato and onion salad to start with followed by Cod and Halibut with curried mussels and they were abs delicious. The added twists of mustard dressing to the salad and an hint of curry to the garlic bread are wonderful Addison’s to the starters. The fish is fresh and cooked to perfection, you could have it any better. This is a gem of a place and well worth the wait for the food.

We are here twice on a recent holiday to a Los Gigantes. Carlos always makes us welcome and is a great host. The food is simply excellent and very good value and the view at sunset is stunning. My favourite food here is the garlic prawns and lamb but all the food is freshly prepared and good quality. Don’t miss this wonderful restaurant

Very good food does not come out instantly so be prepared to have patience - if you order fish it will be cooked to perfection. The menu isn't the most detailed but 1 dish is plenty per person. Also I would advise going for lunch rather than dinner as there is no inside dining - the outside terrace is overlooking the sea but tends to be chilly at 7pm when they open and by the time you are eating around 8pm you will be wearing 2 or 3 blankets! The owner is a friendly chap, only accepts cash and I feel he is missing a trick by closing from 3pm to 7pm. Between 5pm and 6 pm are the most gorgeous sunsets and this outdoor terrace gives you a prime view.

Having found the Fisherman’s Inn via TA, we decided to book a table and we did not regret it! This should be in the too 3 restaurants on TA! The Fish Skewer as a starter was very delicious, however, I did regret having it, as my main course, The Seafood Chowder, was absolutely enormous and would have fed two to three people. It tasted amazingly creamy, and was very delicious! My husband had the Soup of The Day, a tasty vegetable soup made with fish stock! The large bowlful disappeared very quickly, a sure sign that the contents were very good! Followed by the local fish of the day, Dorada Seabream. This was served with salad and Canadian potatoes. As my husband does not like salad, I did a good swap of a large portion of my chowder for some salad! All the dishes were amazing. The owner did tell us well in advance that there would be a bit of a wait for our food. He has a good sense of humour and is very entertaining, my husband was highly amused that he offered 3 camels and 2 goats for a swap for me! Would definitely recommend this little hidden gem of a restaurant! One note! If you want to order the Fisherman’s Pie, (which we all wanted), you have to order it the day before! Starve yourselves beforehand and you’ll have a fabulous time! Also it is CASH ONLY, which is no problem We will definitely go back!

Ate here last night with my partner after the great reviews we’d seen on here. Booked a table for 7pm, which meant we were one of the first tables seated. The restaurant has on the bottom of the menu to be patient with food being cooked. Which was true for majority of tables, but we were served in a normal amount of time. So just a little tip if you go and don’t want to wait as long. Lovely views! And hearing the waves crashing on the tiny beach below was relaxing. We had garlic prawns and ham mozzarella salad to start, both dishes were fantastic. So fresh and lovingly prepared. The mains were out of this world, halibut and curried mussels, and the cod. Absolutely divine and some of the best meals we’ve ever had! And we are real foodies! Carlos is a real character , as others had stated, and I was slightly concerned this may be a bit too much, but I was so wrong. He was charming but polite, there but not overbearing . He had the perfect balance depending on the customers and that really is a true skill. Do not hesitate, just book this place and have one of the best meals you’ve ever tasted!

OK, this is not your normal establishment. For a start the owner, Carlos, a man who has had 7 wives and gets numbers 6 & 7 to work together in the kitchen, is a one off libertarian 70 year old charmer with a great sense of humour. He runs LG's best night out accompanied by the most amazing ocean outlook primed for sunsets beyond belief. He's been here for 15 years doing the same menu more or less, but why mess with a winning formula? His cat has been by his side all these years, if you go to the wash room don't expect your seat back- the cats sitting there like he owns the place so best to pull up another chair. Expect to be there for the whole night (this is definitely not fast food!) but who indeed wines about sitting on a sun drenched terrace with the best view in town? Anyway, Carlos and his two accomplice will keep you entertained with life tales, hopes and dreams. The food is all freshly prepared from kitchen to table, steaming hot and piled high. The Cod is superb, fish pie like none other and you will never get through the chowder, my top pick. Totally unique, rustic no frills seating, no coffee, no deserts, no need for a watch. when the food stops, Carlos will plonk the house liquor on your table to round things off. Everyone rolls out drunk. Don't forget, this is not fast food- you have been warned! Andrew & Elaine (Crab Island)
