Where else can you get a free glass of a €230 bottle of Sagrantino. Here is Roberto with his lovely family Luca and Irene but what a smooth operator. If he spots you as a serious wine drinker he will offer you a glass of...some of his best wines and have a sip himself. He has the most incredible stock of wines some on parade in the shop some hidden behind a locked door. Food is excellent local fare and so reasonable haven’t had such value for money in years. This is a slick but professional family operation who just want to have fun with the clientele and offer them that little bit more than you expect to get. Spoil yourself. Best evening so farMore

I heard nice music in the street and me and my girlfriend entered the place asking for a glass of wine. We felt immediatelly at home and Roberto showed us all his knowledge in wine, telling us stories concerning his business travels in US. I...am Italian and tasted nice wines that were new for me. Roberto took care of us and I really felt home. I will definitely come back. I suggest everyone to go in and enjoy the real Italian experience. Thanks RobertoMore

We stopped to have truffles with egg pasta and some preserved meats. Roberta warmly welcomed us and started to explain the unique wines of Marche for which he is an ambassador & master sommelier. He informed us that he ships cases to Singapore,HK, Shanghai, USA...& represented at wine tastings. He then gave us 2 wines to taste with a generous pouring. We left unhassled and satisfied.More

This is likely the best wine store in all of Italy. They also serve fresh simple food. BUT the wine is the star here. Roberto Angelini has spent over 30 years developing his expertise and he is happy to share. Expect Michelin Star wines and...simple food—-their enthusiasm is the reason to go. Spello is beautiful as well.More

I came here with a group of six girlfriends on Oct 7th -- initially for lunch. Wowza!! First meal: bruscetta with the sweetest tomatoes picked from the Angelinis' garden, homemade pasta with mounds of fresh truffles that Roberto, himself, shaved at our table, Italian champagne...from Caprai, and amazing red wine! The Angelinis (Irene is the daughter & Roberto is the father. Luca, the son, wasn't there, so I've clearly got to come back!!) are so lovely and happy and generous and their food and hospitality is unmatched!! We went back for dinner the next night & had a bit of everything! We also decided to have our last meal in Spello there because I didn't realize I'd missed the 24-hour braised wild boar. Let me be clear--the wild boar is TO DIE FOR!!! Suffice it to say, the six of us ate here three times in three days, tasted literally every dish, and for the remainder of our time in Italy, we kept comparing the food (and wine!!!) to the food we had here at Enoteca Properzio!!! Also -- this is an insane wine shop! You can get wine here that you CANNOT get anywhere else, including the wineries!! Ask about the Fendi wines!!! Ask about the Colosorbo wines (women owned & women run!). Their shipping back to the US is the cheapest we found, and we were all over Tuscany and Umbria!More

We enjoyed our wine tasting/lunch. The presentation of the wine and food were nicely done. The detailed information of each taste was very informative. My sisters and I loved our visit hereto much that we returned the next day for another meal! If you are...in the area, stop by you will not be disappointed.More

I participated in a wine tasting over lunch at Enoteca Properzio through a small tour group. The experience was top notch! The food, wine knowledge, passion and personal touches really made the experience. The property is charming and upscale. There were very few people in...town, even during a tourist high season. I really appreciated this after the crowds in Florence. The Angelini family is warm and welcoming - it is wonderful to meet two generations of the family during our ~2 hour lunch. I look forward to receiving the case of wine and olive oil in a couple weeks. I will recommend to all my friends seeking a relaxed experience in Italy. Thank you!More

We stumbled across Spello several years ago. And on the back of glowing reviews paid a visit to Enoteche Properzio. What a place. The Angelini family are generous and warm hosts. The food is excellent and home cooked using the freshest local ingredients. The wine...selection is phenomenal. And they ship! Arrange to have lunch with a wine tasting. You won’t regret it and if you’re lucky you may make new friends.More

One dish was mediocre; one was poor. Overall, very poor value for money. By far the worst meal over a trip to eight Italian towns. Surprisingly to me, many of the reviews are very positive (perhaps because of the big wine selection, which is not...of great interest to me personally).More
