We attempted to make a reservation via email in the weeks leading up to our trip. In spite of several email attempts, we never heard back from the restaurant. So, we decided we would just go and see if they could accommodate our group (6...More

Tiny place with some outdoor porch seating and a fabulous view of some spectacular lava formations. Specialty is fish soup which was quite good or a blustery day. Freshly baked bread was lovely.

My husband and I followed the coastal walk from Arnarstapi to Hellnar and stopped at the Fjöruhúsið Café before we headed back. What a beautiful spot! The menu is very limited but we had the quiche and fish soup and they were both very good....More

We stopped in Hellnar for lunch on a blustery day. If you blink, you will miss the town of Hellnar and you'll miss Fjoruhusid. But it's worth timing your day to stop here. You get to Fjoruhusid by parking in the lot at Hellnar and...More

This turned out to be a favorite stop on our two week journey around Iceland. After a long hike, we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch overlooking an amazing view and enjoyed some wonderful food!!

We didn't have reservations so we had to sit outside. The view is amazing. If you sit next to the building you are protected more from the wind. Food was delicious! The seafood soup was light and refined. Vegetable quiche is yummy.

After a 40 min walk from Arnarstapi it was good to encounter this small restaurant overlooking a quaint beach/harbour with dramatic basalt arch. Being 'one of a kind' it is not cheap and food choice is quite limited. We sat on the terrace and both...More

This little place is nestled in the little cover in Hellnar- the place looks like a little fishing shack. It was sunny and warm and they have a great outside seating area where you can get a simple lunch - the seafood soup looked popular...More

Drive to the end of the road in Hellnar (hellnavegur road) and it's there - you kind of have to walk down to it. You could also park in Arnarstapi and do the coastal hike - this place would be at the end of that hike.
