We ordered 2 x grilled halibut. The fish were thawed, the water flowed from them, they were by no means fresh and had nothing to do with the delicious dinner on the grill !!! And instead of freshly fried pancakes with cottage cheese, we landed...on the plate heated in the microwave and of course with the curd inside, so it floated in the water from hot cottage cheese !!! We were definitely not looking forward to such a dinner! "Plus" only received a nice lady who served us. We do not recommend !!!More

Our first visit in Hel and we have already found perfect place. This is one of my top restaurants to go for tasty fish. All the food delicious and very fresh. We started with fish soup followed by cod wrapped in bacon (yummy) and for...main we had fried plaice and salmon in feta and leek sauce accompanied with baked potato with garlic dip. Very friendly staff was happy to help and advice what to order. Definitely recommend and want to visit again.More

The old building from 1827 is very quaint and atmospheric. My husband had the knuckle and said it was the best he’s had! Yummy homemade cake, great Zurek too!

I expected more, perhaps that's my problem. Went to Maszoperia to grab some coffee and cake after watching the seals. I can't really complain, everything was just OK but it seems like the place misses this little 'something', at least for me. Perhaps I need...to come back and try their food. Not a bad place for sure, worth visiting even if for the building itself.More

This restaurant came highly recommended so we went out there for a dinner. It didn't quite live up to its world of mouth. We went for fish of the day which was a cod with spinach and mozzarella cheese. It was heavily covered with breadcrumbs...and very greasy. I give you that this is common thing for polish sea but we've expected here something lighter and more sophisticated. Prices are reasonable and the service was really great. Tip well deserved despite the food itself. We won't be coming back though.More

If you want to see the old stylish restaurant in the Hel peninsula you need to visit here. Old fisherman hut , rather not spacious, Service not understand the kitchen and are not able to describe local cuisine details. For herrings usage of common and...popular spices so called "vegeta" we notice and suffer later .More

I know this place for 30 years. Came back after 10 years and it's only better. Delicious food even though it's low season. Must to visit being on Hel Peninsula.

A must be for all who visits this unique part of polish seaside. The restaurant is in really old fishermen's house with the special spirit and unique smell of the interior. Delicious food is served on separate plates so you can mix dishes with your...mates. Highly recommended! But remember: do not ring the bell - unless you are alone in the restaurant (old pub/ tavernas rule: the one who rings offers ALL guests a shot of vodka/tequila/grappa)More

I usually visit Maszoperia late September or early October. The after-season period at Hel peninsula effects in empty restaurants while waiters are ready-to-go to serve the best of the kitchen. Ten you can spent even half of the day in this place, feeling no pressure...to leave the table from the season-tourists :). In that circumstances I love to visit Maszoperia, where all dishes are perfect. Delicate, hot, almost melting fish, accompanies perfectly by fresh, colder salads, mashed potatoes in butter and tea with cloves and raspberry juice.More

we are pretty frequent visitors to Hel. Our plan typically is the walk along the beach from Jurata to Hel. we finish in Maszoperia. As we do that for last 20 years, we certainly do regret the lack of previous Chef, but though the food...is not so excellent - it is still a very nice restaurant. The competition has grown tremendously and more is coming, but Maszoperia is still worth visiting. The quality of cod is even improving, and the one with spinach and mozzarela is very goodMore
