Charmingly located just outside the town center. Good service level even during peak hours. We had shrimps for starters, tuna and rabbit for main course and local desserts. Every dish was great, especially when you consider the price point to other nearby places. We got...this restaurant recommended from multiple sources and now I understand why.More

Amazing food and views....We sat at edge of place and food was great however when night fell we were attacked by maybe some moths/bugs. They eventually calmed down but wasnt restaurants fault. Food is amazing and cant complain./

The best restaurant of our trip, hands down. Being Americans we were there early before they officially opened. But they very generously had us sit in the front garden with the amazing ocean views, while our waiter brought us delicious snacks and wine. That set...the tone for the amazing service and food we received the rest of the night. I eat some raw fish, mainly on top of a california roll, but here I had a life altering my good crudo raw fish platter with swordfish, amberjack, prawns, anchovies, and it was all sooo delicious, fresh, only had salt pepper and oil and that was all it needed. The rabbit entree was amazing, as was the Gorgonzola bacon pasta dish. The wines were reasonably priced for value and many excellent choices. Can’t recommend it moreMore

We came here for dinner last week during our honeymoon on Salina. The setting—a lovely terrace with sweeping views of the ocean and the mountains of the island—is special. Views and setting? 5/5. Unfortunately, the food was pretty inconsistent: 2/5. Appetizer of tuna tartare was...delicious, but things went downhill from there. Ricotta ravioli were thin and had very little filling; desserts of cannolini (tiny cannoli) had only the smallest dab of filling and were hollow in the middle, almond blancmange with white mulberries was inedible. It’s a shame that such a lovely location run by a hardworking family doesn’t have more consistent food quality.More

Dined last week on 2 occasion’s. Both food and service outstanding. This is a beautiful restaurant with a great ambience especially if sitting on the terrace. A real labour of love. Lovely for a romantic dinner on an amazing island. Food is modern and the...Provence is local. Another reason I will be back to Salina.More

Very basic and traditional cuisine. Nothing exceptional. We ordered 1 appetizer, 1 main , water on average 40€ per person, which is way too expensive!!!!. There are much better places on the island.

Great dinner at La Pinnata. The staff is lovely and friendly. The relaxed atmosphere on this very curated typical aeolian Terrance makes the evening special. Very fast service. We had two appetisers and we loved the fresh raw fish! Simply delicious. Good cous cous and...meat options too. We had a Maialino al Malvasia and it was simply the best I had in my life! Great fresh and tasty desserts too...Highly recommended. We will be back!More

We had dinner here as a couple in September 2020. We werent sure about the reviews as most were good and one or two were terrible. This place is ever so slightly out of the town centre of Malfa but easy to get to with...a short walk. The service was prompt but we struggled with the menu which required a qr reader on the mobile phone. We had cheese/ham and raw seafood as a starter which was nice. Further courses included stockfish pasta with cheese sauce and filled squid. We drank a bottle of local dry Malvasia which was nice. Paid 150.- for two incl. tip. Decent meal but could be a bit more ambitious for that sort of money.More

I rarely write reviews on Trip Advisor but felt compelled to following our supper at this Salina-based restaurant. The food silenced my husband and I it was so good. I was visiting Sicily to write about its hotels and restaurants for a magazine, and the...food and convivial atmosphere at La Pinnata del Monsu' really stood out. For one, tables were filled with locals who were clearly in on the secret. The views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the terrace at sunset were extraordinary, as was the rustic home bread and the tasty local vegetable appetisers. We enjoyed the best pork belly (gloriously fatty - proper, authentic stuff) and aubergine parmigiana to date. I couldn't recommend this charming family restaurant more and will be coming back for long suppers with a big group of us next year!More

A group of 5 of us were recommended to visit this restaurant by a waiter at a local hotel. Walking to the venue, it was very impressive, perched on the side of a hill with a great view of Malfa. The waiting staff were very...rude from the outset, we ordered appetisers to share between 5 and what arrived was enough for 1 person with 1 slice of bread each. We had to send back 3 main courses as the pasta was undercooked, my pork belly dish was simply fat, no meat and my wife’s dish was full of vinegar. The waiting staff argued that it was down to personal taste and no one ever complains but eventually let us re order 3 main dishes, still with no apology about the awful quality of the dishes we had already been served. One of the replacement dishes, a tortellini dish, was stone cold, tasteless, like eating wallpaper paste and had to send that back again. Another dish we revived as a replacement, aubergine parmagianno, was so salty it was inedible. We once again complained about the quality of the food, received no apology from the waiting staff, and when protesting with the waiter when paying (a lot of money for the experience we had, and not a lot of food) he simply did not care. This is simply the worst dining experience I have ever had - poor quality of food at reasonably expensive prices, waiting staff that almost seemed annoyed to be serving customers, and customer service that was non existant. As a group of 5 payed €114 for 5 slices of bread, an appetiser fit for 1 person, of a small appetiser of octopus, 2 litres of house wine, and 5 small main courses, 4 of which had to be sent back. The worst restaurant in Salina. We left hungry, angry and totally shocked at the experience we had just had DO NOT VISIT!!!!!!!!More

Awful. Awful. Awful. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Setting is beautiful, wine was good - Everything else was absolutely diabolical. The food was beyond terrible. Stale bread, raw pasta (not al dente....raw!), extremely salty melanaze (my mouth is still bone dry from this 24 hours later), disgusting...cod pasta with sweet dessert sauce on top and pork belly which was ALL fat (no meat). We had to send most of mains back. When we raised a complaint there was no sincerity or apology or any offer / gesture. Instead we were told that it is how the restaurant do it and that it must not be to our taste (...we have taste buds) before tasting or seeing or asking any questions. Half of our party are Sicilian (and definitely know how this food should be cooked etc) and it was extremely insulting to hear this rationale to why the food was so bad. Waitress also told us that if we were at a friends house we wouldn’t send food back - which really didn’t make any sense. All very bizarre and we spend a long time having to justify our complaints and the uncooked, over-salted and bad tasting food - this further ruined our evening and was an even more uncomfortable dining experience. We asked for management / owners and the waiting staff said they were on a boat and not present. No offer of any escalation, gesture and we had to squeeze a non genuine apology. We also had to pay about £120 between our party for a couple of edible mouthfuls each. Avoid this place at all costs / do not ruin your holiday or beautiful Salina with this place (unless you are going for a drink - do not order FOOD!!!).More

Very pretty location outside the main village of Malfi. Excellent grilled octopus on potato purée, spaghetti with prawns and the stuffed cuttlefish was also delicious. Very attentive staff! Good price quality ratio! Highly recommend!
