Lao Vida is primarily a training facility. There is an English language program for city Lao in the evening and Vocational training programs for sponsored rural Lao during the day. One of these vocational programs is bakery, so the Vida Bakery Cafe was set up to help transition our alumni into full time work. Tribal Lao are often seen as third class citizens in Laos, and it is impossible for them to be anything other than subsistent living farmers, without programs like ours. We strive to give our students training that is equivalent to what they would receive in the western world. Trained by Ozzies, Kiwis and Poms, means our cafe is the only place you can really hope to get a truly western

The food was really nice: had hummus with pita and cucumber & carrot sticks and a slice of quiche. Quiche was nice (10k the slice) and the hummus also good but a little overpriced (25k).
Cappuccino was great and also the Banana Mocha Frappe.More

Hello Sebastian, Thanks for the positive review. Sometimes I find the reactions of tourists to our prices hilarious. Your Platter of fresh Hummus with fresh pita and carrot sticks cost LESS than three US dollars. I will challenge you to find a platter of hummus...More
Relaxing, casual air-conditioned atmosphere. Loved the hummus, pita/carrot/cucumber platter for lunch, mini pizza for a snack, home-made soup (daily special).... Great ice-cold drinks and smoothies. Hot, hot tea in a pot (a couple of cups' worth!) Friendly staff. Delightful mix of playlists for background music....More
My friends and I really enjoyed this cafe. Our favourite part of Pakse! Really good to find health conscious food. The muesli and smoothies were to die for. Mostly the staff were so lovely and spoke excellent English.
I went to this bakery because of its high ratings and was quite disappointed. It is aimed to western tourists who believe in all lao promises. Just give a touch of welfare and people give good recommendations. Got the wrong food although i pointed and...More

Thanks Kunopaulus, honest feedback! How do our prices compare with where you are from? We regularly check on our prices to ensure that they are among the cheapest in Pakse. I'm sure as you traveled around a bit more in Laos you appreciated how reasonable...More
This place is consistent all year round. The staff are great, the variety and quality is fantastic, the place is cool and comfortable.
They teach and train hundreds of Laos every year so do your best to support!
We spent a lot of time in this air-conditioned cafe during our stay in Pakse. The food and drinks are of excellent quality - we particularly liked the ‘build your own’ option. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!
