I really liked this restaurant and the service was also great. We were a party of 11 people and all our food was great. We called before to ensure we has a table and the receptionist was very nice. Once we got to the restaurant,...the service was great. All the plate presentation was nice and the drinks were refreshing. After lunch, we headed back to the beach for some drinks, also from the restaurant. Definitely a nice afternoon.More

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel we stayed at. We were there for lunch and only tourists were there. I waited for a waiter and finally after many gestures one came to our table. It was not busy which would have excused the delay....Outside a musician is singing (yelling) american music and playing drums. Very noisy. We had the shrimp tacos. These were the worst tacos I ate during my 4 week stay in Mexico. Greasy , full of cheese and small shrimps. 3200 pesos + 15% tax which usually is included in the price but not there. I could only eat one taco by removing all the cheese. Waiters seem bored and none were smiling. Nobody cam back to our table for refills (We had beers). We can't understand the good reviewsMore

We’ve been to San Benito 3 times and going again Feb 2024 for a month. Every trip we go to the Crabster Restaurant in Progreso at least twice for their crab burger with fries and a beer. As far as food goes, this is the...highlight of the trip. Service is great and the burger is to die for.More

The place has a nice bar, the rest a little rundown from the weather and chairs are stained. All the tables in the front have a Reserved sign, even though there wasn’t a lot of people. The food is blend, I think they actually forgot...to used salt, except for the pineapple sauce on a coconut shell in my plate, it tasted like, that time, that my granddaughter spray me with perfume, and got on my mouth. The natural drinks are very small and weren’t sweet at all. The service was fast and our waiter very nice. Anyway, too expensive for what you get. …If only you can have a front seat, at list you’ll be paying for the view 2 people lunch, not alcoholic beverages for 70.00 Dlls not worth it for me.More

This was a wonderful restaurant with great ambiance and the food was spectacular. I ordered the coconut shrimp and the portion was large and super fresh! Our waiter (Jose) and the rest of the staff ( Elias) was super kind and helpful in ordering our...delicious meal. Very comparable to any high end restaurant in New York. I would highly recommend for a chill date night.More

Even though we went in high season, we found a table for 6 people and we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. I recommend for entrance fish ceviche and as a main course mandarin shrimps. Mixology is really good at this place I...had a really good Gin with Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.More

We were on the Carnival Valor and in port. I usually go to an all-inclusive hotel, but was with a much tamer group. I decided to do something different and research the best restaurants in Progresso as I know that the Mexican food Americans usually...request is not really Mexican at all especially in a small fishing village. We chose the more touristy Crabster. Please be advised, this will be the best Mexican seafood you will ever eat. We had stone crabs, shrimp tacos, and lobster tacos. Everything is fresh and unbelievably delicious. So many people stay on the boat here and I don’t understand why. I would love to live in Progresso!More

This was the 2nd time I went for breakfast within one month. The 1st time I ordered the Progresso omelet with seafood and a nice cream sauce. It was great. I went again and ordered the same dish with the option to add lobster, pricing...is by weight I requested the smaller amount. The dish was disgusting! The lobster was not fresh and was so salty, I'm assuming they salted it because it was not fresh to hide the bad taste and smell, it was rotten, I'm still sick, I complained and they could care less. The service is very lazy there too. It's a seafood restaurant, no fresh lobster?? You would be shocked what they charged me for stall lobster...$800 peso for a few pieces, just disgusting and outrageous.More

We came up to Progresso for a couple of nights and possibly had one of the best seafood meals we’ve had around Mexico. Being from the Pacific Northwest, we’re quite discerning with the quality of seafood and this place was extremely fresh and high quality....The Pescado Frito (fried whole fish), was perfectly cooked and was the best my husband has had in very long time. From the service to the food and cocktails, an extremely pleasant experience all around and highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back! Gracias!!More

If you’re looking for great seafood options, Crabster is the place in Progreso beach. Service and food are sold good and prices are quite OK for seafood standards. Give this place a chance and you won’t regret it.
