A 6 course tasting menu with paired wine. No menu so all a complete surprise. Staff were really passionate and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Food (and wine) were outstanding. We both really enjoyed the meal which took about three hours. Atmosphere was relaxed...and informal. The staff’s English was excellent. On street parking is expensive (13 euro for 2 hrs max stay) but we let the restaurant know and they kindly sorted it.More
Delicious food. I highly recommend the tasting menu to truly discover their cuisine. I’ve been treated really nicely with full explanation (and translation) for each dish
First trip back to Eetkamer for 3 years and delighted to say food is as good as ever and tasted potentially even better as we have missed it so much! Really interesting choices with each plate offering a great balance of flavours. Jasper and Quinty...running a great front of house and kitchen. Still no.1 in The Hague in our opinion. Hopefully not so long before our next visit.More
Amazing host. Top atmosphere for those who fancy small high quality restaurants. Go for the full package with vine and food, lean back and enjoy.
I have wanted to try this restaurant for years now and we finally did it ! Nice atmosphere, great food and wine. The service was perfect and we can take the time to enjoy the full menu.
Spent a wonderful Saturday evening at de Eetkamer van Scheveningen enjoying a five course surprise menu. The restaurant has a cosy, warm atmosphere and service was super friendly and accommodating, making it a very comfortable place to spend a couple of hours. There is a...choice of a 4,5 or 6 course surprise menu with or without wine pairing. The restaurant also adapted the menu to suit one of our dietary requirements. The food was interesting, diverse and delicious and we especially enjoyed the venison dish served with a vegetable tartlet, mini magnum composed of confit duck and pineapple-chocolate dessert. The starter- a gravlax or watermelon dish was less interesting and flavourful. Will definitely be coming back to try some new dishes!More
Nice place, good ambience, nice service and efficient... amazing food! A great culinary experience! To do again! It worth it!
A bit in doubt about three or four stars. Based on my experience I would go for something in between. The reason is that I didn’t had a wow moment during our 4 course meal, maybe except for the dessert. A combination of mango ice...with a light taste of pepper. Overall the food was good and the staff was very cooperative.More
We had a fantastic five course dinner with corresponding wines. The menu comes as suprise menu which is very good. The kitchen-team had no problem to change some courses from meat to a vegetarian version. The wines suited each course perfectly. From fish to cheese...we always liked the selection. We will definitely be coming back!More
6 course menu was great with wine pairing. Love when the dish is explained along with the wine and why it was chosen. Must try and recommend reservations.
We had a lovely 5 course diner at de Eetkamer yesterday. The wines were also well chosen. I love the salmon on the first course and the sous-vide guinea fowl. All courses were nicely presentented, and the taste of each was spot on. However, I...still think that the prices are a bit high, almost comparable to Michelin restaurant prices.More
It was a fantastic 4 course dinner we had. The portions were well balanced into the four courses. We liked it from beginning to the end (two of us dessert, one cheese). Attentive service, nice and cosy ambience. The accompanied wine we had was great....Especially the red from Lodi, California. We will definitely come back.More
I was there on a Friday evening, with a reservation. The ambience is relaxed, casual, and very cosy. The service was slow at the beginning but caught up after the third course (out of 6). The waiters were very kind, friendly, and explained every dish...thoroughly. The food quality was outstanding, and the portion size was commensurate with the number of courses, so that in the end I was happily full. Definitely good value for money.More
Eetkamer has been our go to restaurant over the past 4 years in The Hague, their dishes serving high quality ingredients combined with new ideas has completely changed our dining habits. Their concept of multiple courses allows you to try things you would not normally...consider and experience a full range of flavours. Kitchen and front of house combine effortlessly to give you an unmatched experience. If you want to move beyond your normal dining experiences you need to try Eetkamer.... you will not be disappointed, we have eaten in multiple Michelin starred restaurants but if we had a last meal.. it may well be here!More
