This restaurant is definitely not worthy of having a Michelin star. We went as a group of 10 people and had dinner here, however, our experience was definitely not good. All of us were extremely disappointed. The review comes from a person who loves fine...dinning and had excellent experiences in the past. I will write here some details: - the bread was average and the focaccia seemed old. You can find better focaccia in any good Italian bakery - some of the dishes were tasteless and did not leave a good taste in your mouth. For example, the egg-based dish could barely be eaten - 2 people from the group even got sick like food poisoning and had to take medicine after arriving home. The risotto was very bad and did not have the proper texture, leaving a weird after-taste as well. I could go on and provide specific details about every dish we tried here, including the dessert, as they were all either plain / bland or just not eatable. Both the 3 and 6 course menu contained dishes which were not connected and did not mix well. Also, the portions were very large, which was pointless, considering it was supposed to be a tasting menu. The service was average at best - something we have never experienced in any other fine dining / Michelin-starred restaurant.More

Nothing to say about the food. It is really outstanding. Great menu, attention to details and extensive use of local products. Unfortunately the service is really poor and inattentive. We arrived at 20.15 as we were told to (thats when they open) and were left...sitting for over 20 minutes with only a bottle of water in front of us. I called one of the waiters and asked for a bottle of wine. He said it was going to let it breathe so we were expecting to wait a while. Then I had to get up and go and look for the waitress to take our order. She reacted very aggressively, instead of apologizing for the delay, saying that she had to bring a soup to a table with a baby. I noticed that she was trying the temperature of the soup with her finger just out of the kitchen. By 9pm we finally received our bottle of wine, which had not been opened yet and was opened at the table. The waitress came to take our order and made us feel pressured to decide quickly but nobody had explained to us how to order considering that there are 2 set menu options and the a la carte option. It was my second time there but there will not be a third one. Despite the food being so good, the service really left a bitter taste in our mouth. On a positive note, I think that the price of food and wine is really good for the quality you get.More

This is the first restaurant I have eaten in which has been awarded a Michelin star, and I am wondering how it managed to achieve that accolade. I had a six course tasting menu, and the food was under-seasoned, presented with no particular elegance or...originality, and two of the courses were served lukewarm. I had hoped that some of the dishes would have a 'wow' factor, some aesthetic or culinary mark of excellence that would set them apart from other dining experiences and create a unique and special memory. Regrettably none of them had this, and the one memory which stands out from the meal is the taste of the polenta which accompanied my roe deer, and it is not a good one. The big black hotel dog who wandered to and from the kitchen door and sat outside our window eating some scraps of food seemed to be enjoying what he had been given. Unfortunately I was not able to share his enthusiasm. This restaurant seems to think it is much better than it actually is, and it needs a bit of a reality check.More

This is really a great restaurant. We had a delicious dinner here enjoying their normal menu and some specials of the day. My partner went for the six course menu which was really nice balanced with different tastes. I went for an antipasto, primo and...secondo and for me was far too much as you also get two appetizers on the house which are so delicious. The egg with truffles was such a nice surprise and one of our favorites. Be prepared that at the end you also get a dessert on the house. Service was excellent.More

We had a most enjoyable evening at L Chimpl with majestic theatre and truly delicious fayre at this rural Michelin-starred restaurant. Stefano and his team of chefs provided a lovely meal concentrating on local ingredients whilst Katya gave us the theatre and dishes were explained...as we progressed. The wine list was extensive and full of local choice.. The evening starts at 8.15pm for 8.30pm to allow for people in the adjoining hotel restaurant to have eaten first. Closed Sundays. Highly recommended.More
