Ofcourse we were very disappointed when we saw that it was closed for vacation. Thus we were not able to eat something. The rating is just an expression of... More

This was not too far to visit by foot along the canal from our holiday cottage. We stopped and had chips which were gorgeous and with very big portions too. Couldn't fault the food or service. Very well run and was always busy when we passed it, so must be popular with the locals.

Visited with mum and had a really nice lunch. A giant vanilla slice was a nice end to the meal and enough to take home for a second dessert the day after. Enjoyed it but it is expensive.

I called here for fish and chips to take away after being told how good it was, as soon as I went in the take away area I was surprised to see that salt and vinegar was not on the counter to add yourself, i would prefer to put it on myself as I know how much I want on,... More

Been here loads of times with the family and still reckon it's the best chippy ever. We all enjoy the home made pies and the quality of the chips are the best . Well worth a stop off.

Yes it's a good chippy but talk about pricey, it's a good 30% more expensive than most chippys around. It never seems to be open every time I pass and at the weekends, one could only assume he makes soo much money through the week that there's no need to open at weekends. Put apart from the cost and the... More

Description
This is not an ordinary chip shop. There is a lovely resturant or an old bus to dine in. In summer eat outside or by the canal.Childrens menu and wide range of meat pies and puddings available. The vanilla slices are great as wellaethe fruit pies All home made. All avilable with tea/coffee, bread and butter. Just go in the chp shop, order and the meal is brought to you at your table. The service is excellent. It is an experience to dine in the bus usually accompanied by 60s/70s music in the backgrund. The bus can be hired for private parties. The shop is open Mon. and Tues till 3.30pm and Wed.Thurs.and Fri. till 8pm. Not open Sat and Sun. It really is an experience (very good one), and well worth a visit. The place is spotless. We have been going many years now and there .are many regulars. I would recommend the chippy for a very enjoyable experience.
