This restaurant was excellent. Our starter pasta was so delicious best we have had in Italy yet, we both had a kind of meat stew for main with some buttered cabbage and veg, so simple but so delicious. We shared a dessert and a dessert wine which was again so delicious. The waiter was friendly and attentive and made useful... More

First time I visited this place was 2 years ago, they have an amazing pasta with truffles and a very good winelist. Went back there now in august, travelled 2 hours by car just to visit this place again, and do some vine shopping in this little village. Friendly staff. I will definitly recommend this place and come back on... More

The setting was marvellous, options to sit inside or in the garden area.We chose the garden and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.Comprehensive menu to cover most tastes ! A wide selection of Tuscan wines (naturally) and of course a focus on Brunello. The staff were polite and professional, very ready to assist with explanations and guidance on the local wine selection. We ordered... More

This is billed as one of the best restaurants in San Quirico d'Orcia and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere in the garden is terrific. We were offered very good quality prosecco on arrival and all the good was excellent. We had been told that the restaurant is expensive but found it to be very good value.

There are a ton of options in Tuscany, many with food on par or better than this. My Osso Bucco was downright tough and tiny. Service was average. My wife's honey mustard pork chop was quite good. Average for Tuscany is still better than most places of course. But after eating here I can only conclude it is ranked so... More

We enjoyed our meal so much we came back later in the week for dinner. Al Vecchio Forno unfolds as you enter through the garden - there is indoor seating, but the terraced outdoor area is such a treat - with overhead protection from graceful plants, it is a treat for dining. Over the course of the two meals we... More

Two of us went for dinner here and were greeted with a complimentary Prosecco and a nice warm atmosphere..we ordered the duck pan fried and the beef braised in Brunello with a side between us of stir fried broccoli..dessert of creme caramel (hot) and flakey pastry with marscapone and strawberries.. Drinking a 2011 Brunello red and a Prosecco finishing with... More

Vary good set up for this restaurant, with tables outside in a very nicely decorated garden. Food was really good though service was quite slow.

Family dinner was planned - as we have 2 little kids we had been sent to the last corner of the restaurant outside, same like other families even a lot of other tables had been free. Food was ok but not exciting.

Nice location. That's all positive with this restaurant. I ordered "tagliere Di salumi" with claimed local products. I must admit that it has been one of the worse tagliere I had in my life. We then ordered filetto (beef) and filetto (pork). Both tasteless! Finally, we took 2 deserts...Nothing to be remembered. Last, but not the least...very high prices for... More
