I was at the Olde Heidelberg for lunch and had the schnitzel. The food consisted of a deep fried veal cutlet with mashed potatoes, gravy and Sauerkraut. The meal was not that good. The location is very 1985 in its decor. While eating I noticed a couple come in, look around and then leave. This place needs a renovation and... More

Had a urge for some good schnitzel, I was sadly disappointed when I received the meal at this old tired building (smelled of old stale beer), the schnitzel that was served must come out of a box, more breading than meat? Really disappointing. Thought I would have a piece of raspberry pie to make up for the lacklustre meal, just... More

I come here every time I am near Waterloo. Love the huge pork knuckles, the pig tails and the sauerkraut. The waitresses were very friendly. The service quick. The decor could use some sprucing up.

The food is so delicious with a great taste of down home country cooking . The portions are a great size. Not the fanciest of decor. But even great for familes or going out with friends. Love the Ribs

We decided to try this restaurant again after a long time, first time we were disappointed and again this time. Don't think we will return. My wife ordered the pork schnitzel with the saurkraut, I ordered the two piece fish and chip dinner, along with saurkraut and fries. My wife's plate had one very small schnitzel on her plate and... I hadn't been to the hold hotel in quite a while. Went back the other day for some battered mushrooms and wings. Great friendly service and the food was quick and hot. The beer was nice and cold.

If you want pork hock with a reasonable price after visiting the St. Jacobs, this would be a great place for dinner.

The waitress was very unfriendly when I was there, almost no smile all the time except when I paid the bill. The pork Hork is just OK. I will never return that place and would tell my friends away from them.

For me, this place is all about the beer and its pork hock. They have their own beer and it tastes good...it used to have several huge beer tanks displayed at the front, which looked impressive, but they were gone now. The smoked pork hock is huge portioned. But taste wise, it is kind of hit and miss. Sometimes, it's... More

This is the 2nd time we were there in 2 months. We went in for a late lunch, after 3pm! The whole restaurant was full of Chinese. The price was good and the food was average, as expected. Their famous pork hork was delicious, depending on your preference, juicy and soft. If you have never tried that before, you should definitely... More
