The restaurant we intended eating at was closed and on our way back to Taunton we spotted the Hornsbury Mill and decided to visit and have a Sunday roast. Ashleigh and her colleague were excellent hosts and cleared a large table with an excellent outside view of wildlife including peacocks just for the two of us. The roast pork and... More

I hadn't eaten here for over forty years and was delighted to be invited to a function here. We arrived at the main bar and ordered drinks when a waitress told us we were in the wrong place and we had to go to The Orangery which had its own bar! We were directed to The Orangery, but there was... More

A local friend recommended and took us to this place for lunch. A lovely setting, and a great relaxed atmosphere made us feel very welcome. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We'll definitely come again, the next time we visit our friends.

We popped in on the off chance on Sunday evening we have eaten here many times over the years and with different owners. The restaurant had 12 covers that night and 3 waitresses. I was disappointed to arrive to find an uncleared table that remained that way the whole time we were eating :( starters were prompt but hot food... More

Trying to book a table here is near impossible, as they only seem to have one phone and it's rarely manned. On this occasion we just turned up hoping for a free table. Luckily we were told they could fit us in. The food was tasty and menu fairly good. Could be a little longer. The only negatives were the... More

We went to a wonderful wedding. This venue is beautiful, with a pretty lake to wander around. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the day. But just a warning for the ladies!! Leave your designer heels behind. The gravel will ruin them !!

We had the "two courses for £12.95" lunch on a Tuesday. It was very quiet and we ate in the bar (they did offer to open the restaurant but there was only one other couple eating). Very friendly staff. Limited menu. The food was OK - hot and well cooked but "pub grub" rather than restaurant level. Don't expect much... More

Visited the Mill for a day trip with a group of friends, some of who were quite elderly. Lovely setting. Great facility for a Group event. Lovely new extension which enabled us to all be together for lunch. The food at lunch was very good. Quite a limited choice because we were a party of over 20, but the food... More

Dine by candlelight as the waterwheel turns

The Wheelroom Restaurant is small but beautifully appointed with ample space for 40 people.

A light and airy room by day, the Wheelroom with its flickering candles is transformed into a romantic evening setting with soft music by night and the constant turn of the waterwheel behind the glass partition enhances your experience whenever you dine.

Tables can be arranged to suit your needs, so whether eating alone, as a couple or with a party of family or friends the Wheelroom can accommodate you.

Your welcome at the bar is second to none, choose your dishes from the a la carte menu or specials board, then wander down to the Wheelroom where our fully trained, attentive but unobtrusive waitresses will look after you from starters to coffee and liqueurs
