I had been here once before and raved about it. Maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen the time. So, so this time around, but I'd go back again.

Best corn bread (pan de elote) and Chorreadas I've had around Costa Rica. The coffee is also amazing. Casados are very tasty and portions are very good.

This little restaurant offers a delicious meals for you if you are lover of typical food. Besides that... it is easy to find because it is located to a side of main road of Bijagua

Highly recommended to those who want to try something different for lunch. They have a number of different small dishes to try, and the owner is happy to give you some background information. Don't expect anything fancy - food and staff is very basic and down to eart - but that's exactly what makes it so real.

We went here based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor and recommendations from our host expecting complete yumness but instead we left with our taste buds asking for flavor. I tasted the corn in just about everything from the sampler we ordered but everything from the tamales to the yucca dessert was just so-so.

After our tour of Rio Celeste, Brother Adventure Tours brought us here to try comida tipica! This was homestyle cooking! I definitely would recommend it and wish I read reviews so I could sample some of their other food dishes.

This felt like proper home cooking. We had no idea what anything on the menu was, so we just pointed and smiled, and had some great food. I think we might have had dessert first, though....

Discovered this little corn house on a trip to Tenorio back in February when staying in Ocotal for a couple of months. Became a weekly trip (1 hr 20 min drive) Absolutely fabulous simple Costa Rican food! I think we've tried everything on the menu, we always order way too much! No worries, everything tastes great the next day! Just... More
