First be aware that this restaurant does pizza take away. Secondly avoid Saturday evenings. We arrived 8pm on Saturday after a long trip. There was a queue for the take away and obviously a large party booked in. Shown to small table sandwiched between bar where people order take away and door to where espresso machine is kept. Should have left... More

We were 4 people to have lunch there. First we entered, the smell of the place was the one of a dirty kitchen. Two of us asked for pasta, an two asked for a grilled fish and vegetables plate. First of all the dishes took almost an hour to get ready.. and we were one of 3 tables on the... More

We were recommended this restaurant by our 60year old driver, and we did not get disappointed. Lovely casual service, great food for a good "friend of Giuseppe(the driver)" price

This is a great restaurant, The staff was very polite and made you feel at home, the cook, and the Pizza maker are very accurate at giving you a taste of the Authentic Sicilian foods, a great atmosphere, i would recommend anyone in Monreale that is touring the great sites, to stop here for a bite to eat, even a... simple but very tasty food. Try the clava turca. It is a very special pizza with openings like some pastry filled with tasty cheese, sausage and herbs

We only stayed for one night as our flight left early from Palermo but what a wonderful stay none the less. Still in possession of the hire car presented a challenge in both parking & negotiating the Monreale streets - we eventually left the car 'down the hill' a bit but in reality it was more of an abandon for... After a whole day of driving from Agrigento to Palermo we decided to spend the night in Monreale. Being out of season the place was very calm at night, but our stomachs weren't. Being in the mood for some more local food in an easy setting we found Locanda Re Ruggero. Inside some table were occupied by tourists, but we... More

Friendly and polite staff, delicious local cuisine, good wine, and comfortable atmosphere near the Duomo of Monreale. If you have a room for stay upstairs of the restrant, it must be perfect. (B&B available)

We were in Monreale ending our holiday in Sicily and were looking for somewhere to get real food for our last day. We stumbled across Locanda Re Ruggero after looking at a number of other restaurants and were really impressed by the food, service and ambiance. We shared caponata to start which was very subtle in its flavours, followed by... More
