Fantastic restaurant overlooking the sea, located 5 minutes north ( by car ) from Port St Charles on the north west coast of Barbados Housed in a 17th century fort, this family run restaurant has been a local favorite for the past 20 years. Reasonably priced by Barbados standards, the menu is varied with an emphasis on fresh seafood.
My partner had been telling me all about the Fish Pot for a while and finally we got to go together with some friends before they flew back home.
The venue is lovely and the staff attentive and friendly but for us the food wasn't...up to the standard i was expecting or that which my partner had experienced on other visits.
A starter of jumbo shrimp was actually a few pieces of shrimp in a substantial clump of mainly lettuce which, out of the three of us who ordered it, no one ate. Mains on the whole were good, although one catch of the day was returned due to too many bones ( Gordon Ramsey would've sworn a bit about it to the chef!! ) not whats expected of a restaurant of that caliber .
Based on this i'm not convinced it's worth the extra travel time, taxi fare etc, the same standard, if not better can be had at restaurants just down the road from us in Holetown.
It is a great venue and like i said the staff were great but for us the food just didn't make it a great evenning.More

Thanks for letting us know of your experience. We do apologize that we did not live up to your expectation and based on what you have written, perhaps the date of your visit was the last night prior to the current lockdown where we had...More
Firstly our table was amazing .... beach front and secluded with only three other tables.
Staff were super friendly.
The food was great too. Lots of choice and the Mr recommends the lamb shank.
Shrimp was lovely too with the pineapple and mango.
I chose...the burger and it was perfectly cooked.
Cocktails tasted so good we had six!
Watching the sunset go down with the picturesque settings made our final meal on the island so memorable.
Would HIGHLY recommend and think it was the best our of many of the high end restaurants on the island.More
I had dinner with my friends earlier this week and let me tell you, it was such a wonderful experience! Not only was the food delish, the service was really on point. Thank you to Paul and his team for such a lovely evening...can’t wait...to go back!More
Before making mention of anything I'd first like to thank Mr Paul Edwards and his very competent team for taking such good care of us for what was a magical experience.
We were greeted, sat at a beautiful table overlooking the picturesque coastline, allowing full...access to the afternoon sunset. The meals, clams, octopus, risotto, steak, braised lamb, among a few were brilliantly masterd buy the chef who I had the privilege of meeting before the end of the dinner. The Montes Alpha sauvignon blanc provided the perfect pairing for every dish we chose. And for the finally the desserts literature peaked our taste buds. If you're ever in Barbados and don't visit the Fish Pot, then you would have missed out on the most Magnificent Northern Dinning Experience.
Thank you Fish Pot team, we'll be back again.More
The best place to enjoy a glass of cold Rose while absorbing the scenery.... I have had the pleasure of lunching at The Fish Pot many times and the team, food, setting is just amazing..... The issue is "picking" - from the menu as the...food is simply fantastic (i often had to order two "mains" as couldn't say no to the Lobster Risotto (a shared "side" for the table - not being too greedy :-)). Andrew, the team are welcoming and after a busy morning fishing, its great to take the "catch" in and share stories. very safe with Covid etc - a must go to place.... you can also take a boat up the coast as an alternative mode of transport as it has a little jetty.More
We’ve enjoyed the Fishpot several times over the last 20years of visiting Barbados. We had dinner here twice in November and wow the chef has upped the food ! Really good food and atmosphere. Will visit again this coming April
We went to the Fish Pot on our last night in Barbados (2 adults 2 children 10, 8). Wow, what a magical setting. We were given a warm welcome by the owner and the service throughout was excellent and truly attentive to our needs.
The...large open windows overlooking the beach and sea were like live picture frames and added to the ambiance of the place.
All the dishes served were of excellent quality and the grilled fish of the day will stay with me for a long time. Simply done, perfectly executed.
This is a restaurant without the faff and supposed celeb factor of other eateries on the island - this is old school dinning and hospitality where the location, food and service delver rather than just being a place to be 'seen'. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.More
We ate here for lunch and it was one of our favorite meals during our stay in Barbados. The food was amazing - each and every dish. The service was good and the atmosphere/view was simply outstanding. A definite must visit while on the island.
This is our 2nd visit to the Fishpot during our 2 month stay on Barbados and as we have been to most of the recommended restaurants we think this is the absolute best on the island. The setting is beautiful, the menu is varied and...reasonably priced especially for the quality of the food, and the set 3 course menu for $125 is good value. The staff are welcoming and we weren’t rushed out after a very lengthy lunch today with friends. (Thankyou to the manager for cracking a few jokes at the length of our stay but not pushing us out ! ) The Salmon carpaccio starter was tasty and plentiful, the prawn starter was amazing, and the fish chowder and caprese salad all with good portion sizes . For mains the Fish of the day was red snapper which was a nice change and was cooked to perfection served with rice and tasty red curry sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly! Deserts were lovely and the cheese platter had a varied assortment of quality cheeses. The Wine list had reasonably priced wine to the more expensive offerings and a good selection of after dinner whiskey brandy and liquors. This is an exceptional restaurant, the quality of the food, ambience and setting on the bay will keep people making the effort to drive out that little bit further as it’s definitely worth it.More

By car it should take you around 45 minutes to an hour -----------------longer at rush hour .
