Visited here on the recommendation of many, it was a great place to eat and enjoy a drink! The food is Mexican and plentiful, staff are happy and helpful in the true Barbados way. Arrived about 20:00 and the place was busy so may be...worth booking in advance. Afterwards we took a stroll u around St Lawrence Gap. This is a lively part of the island full of bars, clubs and restaurants along with some street vendors selling food and jewellery. Well with a look.More

One of our favorite places to eat in the gap. Really good tasty Mexican food and drinks. There was a two for one cocktail promotion the night we were there and the melon cooler we got was delicious. All the staff we met were friendly...and made for a really good nightMore

I will start by saying the food was excellent, that gets 5 stars, tasty and fresh. It was a busy night and no tables were available we were told so we accepted a seat at the bar. We got seated by the manager we were...told. We ordered drinks from the bartender and when no server approached us we asked the bartender if we could order from him. In this time two other couples who were told there was no tables and seated at the bar were given tables. Would have been nice if this was offered to us as we were there before both these couples even entered. Our appetizer was delivered with our food, which defeats the point of an appetizer. We were never offered another round of drinks or refills of our water, and the barman was rarely seen from where we were seated so we couldn’t even ask for drinks if we wanted to. The only person who checked on us was the gentlemen who asked if we were done and took our plates 20 mins after we were finished eating. We asked him for the bill as he cleared our plates and that took another 15 mins. Very disappointing being ignored for our entire time in the establishment. Considering the automatic 10% service fee I would expect some service, I think we got better service dining at cheffette. Again the food was great the rating is based solely on the customer service aspect of our dining experience. Check my history I rarely review negatively. I normally tip 20-25% but I truly didn’t know who I would be tipping as I never knew who my actual server was.More

All the normal Mexican fare, but very generous portion sizes. Ceviche was more like pickled seafood vinagarette, but delicious. Nachos huge for a starter, could have been a bit warmer. Mains were huge but v tasty. 2 for 1 rums!! Great staff

Our second visit. Very good food. Felt a little pricey but worth it. Make sure you book in advance as it’s popular so a table can be hard to get.

The host was extremely nice when we walked in. A waiter then came and got our drinks and then food order. The food that came was lovey but they forgot my mums meal, a shrimp sizzler, which turned out they never put an order in...for. They apologised and rectified the mistake by bringing her food out some time later. The portions were huge and the food was lovely however, when we paid and left the waiter then chased us down the street claiming we hadn’t paid an extra $100B! This being our first visit to the country and not very savvy on the exchange rate, as well as the waiter looking very distressed we complied and paid the extra money we had ‘missed’. After talking to some locals they agreed we had been overcharged with four mains and four drinks coming to $400! Yes it was also our mistake for not checking the bill thoroughly but we felt rushed and after a long day wished to return to the hotel.More

If you like Mexican food you will love this place. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing. The cheese on the cheese nachos really nice!! We liked it that much in our 2 weeks stay in Barbados we visited 4 times. Each time...having different food and we never had a bad meal. Really nice food and drinks. Even when really busy we were still found a place to eat. I would imagine in peek season it might be advised to book a table.More

Good Food and one of the cheaper places on the Gap (although nothing is cheap in Barbados) Food was decent, served quickly and staff were friendly. Would go back again

Staff friendly and helpful, however the food we got was very disappointing. We both got fajitas . My friend got the chicken, which was overcooked. I had fried vegetables which were overdone and very greasy. The bill was a shock as very pricey and not...value for money.More

Had a lovely meal, in a relaxed environment. Friendly staff. Want to give a special shout out to *Tina* who went over and above with her warmth, consideration and kindness when my partner suddenly fell ill. Despite this setback, she left a long lasting positive...impression on us both due to her calm and attentive nature. She is without doubt, a fantastic asset to the business.More

At the very start of St. Lawrence Gap Christ Church is the Cafe Sol Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar. If you are into Tex-Mex food this is the place for you. Lots of cheese was randomly placed on everything. An unpretentious tourist trap selling comfort...food and high price drinks. Very popular with younger tourists and locals looking for new friends. Suggest starting your night out here before moving on to other places in the gap with live music and equally expensive drinks. I guess because they make rum here on the island, there must be different grades for bars and restaurants, as the drinks we were served were very nice and allowed us to enjoy them all night without getting inebriated no matter how many we consumed. TIP: You have come to have fun, so forget the expense and have fun. At least the people on this Island a very nice and pleasant. If you found this review informative, I would apricate a thumbs up below. Thank you.More

Originally went there for some drinks, but ended up staying for dinner. Food - 4/5 We had the veggie nachos and they were AMAZING. I had the shrimp fajitas - delish! And we also ordered one of the burritos which my husband says was “okay”....Overall pleased with the food, but wouldn’t go for a burrito again. Ambience - 3/5 A pretty basic vibe, but quite nice as it is so close to the ocean. Super casual. Service - 5/5 They were super attentive and very friendly! Drinks - 4/5 Had the top shelf margarita and it was pretty good!More
