We had meals here couple of times during our stay in Deshaie as food was really good. If you are after the local food, then must try! Staffs are very nice and friendly. One thing need to mention is that... it took a while for food to be served. This was our first restaurants we went in Guadeloupe and surprised with... More

My wife and I hit this small village the same night a couple of coaches of fellow tourists came to town. In truth it was a murder picture getting a table anywhere so we were delighted to get a table at this s affront restaurant. The down side was the really lovely staff were rather overwhelmed by the huge number... More

We went there first at about 2 pm, a siesta hour for most of the people in Guadeloupe . Lelette was there, working in the kitchen, having on the table a bunch of fresh spiny lobsters , still moving their "antenas". We asked if we had the permission to look at them and touch them and of course, with his... More

We both had the set menu here which comprised a cocktail, some accras, followed by a salad, then grilled fish with rice and veg - beautifully cooked - and finally flambee bananas which were the best we have had yet. The terrace is wonderful, overlooking the bay, and at €18 each it was great value.

Very typical all along, even friendly if Lelette is on a good day, the food can't be faulted. Yet is it really reasonable to have people wait two hours for their main course and behave as if this was normal and it was you who are rude if you show the slightest sign of impatience ? We didn't think so.

We both ordered the grilled fish of the day. Before we ordered, we were told, that the fish would be marlin, instead of a filet we got a full small fish (snapper). This was accompanied by two types of dry rice, much below what we have sampled in Caribbean cuisine before. 2* for food. We've been to this restaurant for... More

I stayed with my wife in Deshaies for ten days, and even if we tried a fair number of restaurants around the island, we often went back Chez Lelette. Nothing fancy there, a unpretending place, but the fish is always fresh and carefully cooked, and the service is friendly and reasonably fast. Not to forget, prices are relatively low (for... More

We had a lovely and very good value meal chez Lelette, the actual restaurant area was full so we ate on the beach. fresh lobster just grilled, no sauce, perfect. this is NOT a posh place by any means, you will seat on bench or on garden plastic chairs but a friendly staff serves good honest food.

We had nice lobster there and very nice rhum planteur! Service was good - they were prompt. Lelette is still working there and she is still grilling fish and meat in the entrance. A very nice family business

Take a good book with you and expect to wait at least an hour for your food. We popped in for lunch at 1.30 and managed to get a beer in front of us by 2.00. The food (main course only) arrived at 3.10 and we were out of there at 3.30. Two hours of my life I won't get... More
