We went yesterday three of us to this restaurant for the menu of the day. The starters were disgusting . The calamari was soggy in its batter and tasted fowl. Two of us had the Tomato and anchovies which was served with an olive paste....It’s was huge, salty and verging on frozen where it had been stored in the fridge prior to serving. The mains ...... One had the grilled fish - very dry and no potatoes. Two of us had the rice stew with clams and monkfish. But there was no monkfish ! Instead five very small pieces of plain white fish ! Desserts best forgotten. Some sliced fresh orange for one Two of us had the apple tarts These were three puff pastry cases - filled with apple purée verging in baby food. Put simply this restaurant does not have a clue and the chef is an embarrassment ! My advice for the same money head to Los 4 Elementos in Albir and have something created by chefs who care what they put on the plate !More

Was nice, unfortunately was only us and one table and this in all the restaurants in Altea out of season with no tourist. Service of course was ultra fast. We came for steak tartar recommend by a friend. It’s prepare in front of you it’s...a big plus. Very large with home made French fry and toasted bread. 24€ each not very cheap but plenty. Very good seasoning. We ask for chopitos fried excellent as a appetizer enough for 2. House wine was okay. Table well set nothing fancy but fine. Our waiter was friendly enough. Need to go back when busy and see the service to get a real opinion.More

Juan Abril restaurante is a place with a steady quality off food and service, the owner enjoys food as much as any one who has lunch or dinner here. Juan is a man who has been in horeca business for a long time and who...is engaged in making sure you have a best time and food he can with the help off his long time employees who are working here for years and just as Juan making sure that everything is too your expectations. Tartare prepared at your table, and also recommended is any kind off paella.More

This restaurant has been our special choice for many years .It is with a heavy heart that I write this review . Today was my birthday lunch & although the location is stunning ,the service just did not reach our expectation . There was no...love / care about our experience .I remember our first visit maybe 9 yrs.ago .It was truly amazing . However ,so sorry to say that today was not a good experience . We were greeted well as always & then ?? Starter fine & then main . Fillet steak served raw & cold ....Sent back ,so sorry. I ordered medium to well .My husband well cooked .I feel so sad to write this as I feel I have lost my favourite restaurant. My steak was returned, it was acceptable. However, the attitude of the waiter made me feel uncomfortable. I even apologised. We finished our main course .Maybe dessert? No .We were not asked if we wanted dessert or coffee .In fact we sat & finished our drinks for maybe 45 minutes & no further service . Finally, we paid the bill & left . No ," Thank you ,see you soon ." Nothing . Something has been lost .Very sad . I hope one day our loved ,Juan Abril will return . This review is constructive ,not critical .I hope it comes over as such .More

Location has one of the better frontages along the beach front. Focus is only to attract tourists as we did not find a single local throughout our visit. Food was way below expectations and service was terrible!More

The service was just bad. The waitresses talked badly about the costumers in Spanish when they walked around, probably thinking no one would understand. The only nice one was an old man in glasses, only reason I don't give just one "star". We ate the...seafood paella, it was OK.Burned, but still the ok. We didn't even get any bread, even though everyone else did and they tried to charge us for it. So over all, not the greatest experience but thank you anyway.More

This is a pleasant little restaurant facing the sea in beautiful Altea. The rice was excellent, as usual, but you have to watch what you order if you don't want to end up overpaying. Stick to rice dishes -they're all good- and a couple of...side orders say for a group of four -no matter how insistent waiters may be- and you'll be fine.More

During our trip to Altea we were looking for a place to have a nice specialty rice. Maybe too many places to choose, but we ended up sitting on a very nice table inside this place, and really enjoyed it. Good rice, good seafood, no...complains. Service is correct, fast enough and the price is just Ok. Overall, satisfied.More

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by our rep. However we were disappointed. The pealla was served in a giant frying pan and was very burnt at the bottom. We had both chicken and seafood. Very disappointed. Service was not good either. Not...going back.More

Great location facing the ocean on the Altea promenade. With good weather the outside sitting is very pleasant. They have a very reasonably priced set menu, And a good choice a la carte for appetizers, main courses and rice dishes. Attentive service and over all good...experience. Good product but the cooking level could benefit of a higher effort. Average check with wine about €50.00 per person. José Campo, CHA.More
