One of the best meals we had in Kos! As avid foodies, my girlfriend and I always try to look for the best restaurants in the places we visit! Broadway is definitely up there as a must-visit when in Kos if you are similarly inclined....Broadway is a very quaint and querky restaurant, tucked into the Koan suburbia away from the chaotic harbour streets. We tried to do a walk-in on one night but found the place already fully reserved, so had to settle for a reservation the next day. Given we’re in the middle of COVID restrictions and we visited end of season when tourist numbers are low, this certainly peaked our interest!
The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the staff are attentive and speak great English, and if you’re lucky you’ll meet the matriarch of the restaurant who potters around mingling with the guests.
In terms of food, we ordered three sides and two mains, which was the perfect amount to fill us. For starters we had the Moussaka Croquettes, Greek Gyros bao bun, and the Krasotiri local cheese “Crème brulee”. All three were exceptional (particularly the croquettes), and were creatively very different from other food we found in the restaurants of Kos. For mains we ordered from their ‘creative dishes’ menu, getting the lamb saddle with celery root purée and King Prawns Buerre Blanc with Greek rice (I believe the rice was Kritharaki, but I could be wrong). Although tasty, the rice in the king prawns was slightly slimy which wasn’t to my taste - my girlfriend enjoyed it though - and the lamb was delicious but if pushed I would say I still enjoyed the starters more!
We finished the meal with an espresso and complimentary liquor. This one was a local liquor made of tree sap, and a nice change to the ouzo you find in all other restaurants.
We would certainly visit again given the chance, and would recommend you making Broadway one of your restaurant picks when in Kos!More
