Shrimp cream soup has tiny canned shrimp in it. Crab quesadillas were very greasy. Crab cakes had some bones in them and wee unflavorful. Service was awful. I dont like giving bad reviews to places but other should know when a restaurant is just not what you expected it to be.

Lovely restaurant right on the beach. Excellent seafood, good service and great margaritas. Enjoy a good meal and the ocean breezes at the same time.

I actually came here with a tour group, after we checked out the flamingos in Celestún. Not a fancy, haute cuisine kind of place, but the fish was fresh and delicious. I ordered the boquinete. Our guide recommended having it breaded (empanizado) and it was tasty. It came served with lemon, butter/margarine and a standard selection of bottled hot sauces.... More

Ceviche, crab, lobster tails all while listening to an amazing woman play guitar and serenade us with Besseme Mucho outstanding.

This was our favorite restaurant to walk to on the beach. It was absolutely reliably delicious. If you don't like seafood, you'll have little choice. Margaritas are terrific. Green adobe sauce and Diablo are favorites. You've got to eat dinner early like 6pm, 7 is too late to be served.

After a visit to the nearby flamingo sanctuary, we wanted lunch and this restaurant came highly recommended. We ate there, had a less-than-memorable meal, and felt that, for the money, the value just wasn't there. The food was average, and the prices were a bit on the high side, in our opinion. The service was a little slow as well.

I visit La Palapa a few times every year. And it almost seems as if they have lost their flare for cooking. In the past, their dishes were the best in town! The last time I was there (late January 2016), we ordered some shrimp dishes. They came to the table beautifully presented, but the shrimp was very over cooked... More

Nice portions but lacking flavour. The crab ceviche was too salty and watery, rendering the crab tasteless. The fish filet 'al mojo de ajo' was soaked in oil and hence soggy, although the fish itself (dorado) was super fresh and very tasty. Friendly and fast service, good for large groups.

Excellent service, delicious food and ice cold beer. The view was also one of the best lunch views we have had. Good prices, well worth it.

Famous as a fishing town, Celestun produces most of the lobster and crab hands you might find in Miami or other places around the world. We had a kilo of crab hands for $25 US a real steal. Plus the rest of the food was wonderful. are sure you ask for the river shrimp ceviche!
