So the food was ok but pricey for what you get by Mexican standards and nothing special at all very disappointing in a town that doesn't have much to offer bar the flamingoes. The toilets had no rubbing water so generally not pleasant Service was ok but more staff thank guests.

I had lunch and drinks here because I wanted to look at the ocean and the indoor seating provided shade. The menu is mostly seafood. The crab quesadilla appetizer was pretty good because there was plenty of crab and it was flavorful. The rest of the food was blah, typical resort food. I ordered a shrimp dish and a fish... More

Friends from Merida took us to their favorite restaurant ... La Palapa. We spent the morning visiting the flamingos. Afterwards, we headed to lunch. The Grilled Shrimp was delicious. They were marinated. Beautiful food presentation with the tails woven together like a daisy chain. The grilled shrimp dish included a potato wedge and white rice. The restaurant is located on the... I ordered fish fillets in butter and garlic sauce. There were a few fillets and the first two were dry. The last one was tender. Would have been tasteless without the garlic sauce. With it were one piece of a roasted potato like one large wedge) and a little bit of rice. Rice was cold and so was potato. The... More

The waiter tried twice to rob me. One beer according to the menu should cost 28 pesos, but the waiter charged 40 pesos (total consumption was 4 beers). When I told him that he had badly counted, he charged 30 pesos for one beer. When I again pointed out the mistake, he finally properly charged 28 pesos for a beer.... More

5 days ago I ate chevice. OH GOD!!! I got chills the night after and I am still sick. This restaurant IS NOT SAFE when you are not used to the local water. The tomatoes must have been washed with it.

This restaurant is right on the beach and does authentic seafood. I had a mixed seafood broth, grilled grouper and peaches and cream. The prices were good considering the food and the view. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. There are showers for people who choose to take a dip in the Gulf of Mexico before lunch... More

Shrimp cream soup has tiny canned shrimp in it. Crab quesadillas were very greasy. Crab cakes had some bones in them and wee unflavorful. Service was awful. I dont like giving bad reviews to places but other should know when a restaurant is just not what you expected it to be.

Lovely restaurant right on the beach. Excellent seafood, good service and great margaritas. Enjoy a good meal and the ocean breezes at the same time.

I actually came here with a tour group, after we checked out the flamingos in Celestún. Not a fancy, haute cuisine kind of place, but the fish was fresh and delicious. I ordered the boquinete. Our guide recommended having it breaded (empanizado) and it was tasty. It came served with lemon, butter/margarine and a standard selection of bottled hot sauces.... More
